Abstract
Background: Parental satisfaction of pediatric patients is a crucial indicator in evaluating the quality of nursing care, particularly care involving nurses' caring behavior. Caring behavior reflects empathy, responsibility, and effective communication between nurses, patients, and their families. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design and a cross-sectional method. A total of 73 respondents, who were parents of pediatric inpatients at RSUD Provinsi Banten, participated in the study. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) and a satisfaction questionnaire based on Nursalam’s theory. Data analysis employed the chi-square test. Results: The findings revealed that 58.9% of respondents rated nurses' caring behavior as poor, and 52.1% expressed dissatisfaction with the nursing services. The chi-square test showed a significant relationship between nurses’ caring behavior and parental satisfaction (p = 0.000). Respondents who perceived the nurses' caring behavior as good were 178 times more likely to feel satisfied compared to those who perceived it as poor (OR = 178.8; 95% CI: 20.3–1596.5). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between nurses' caring behavior and the satisfaction level of parents of pediatric patients. The better the caring behavior, the higher the satisfaction of the parents.

Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Kepuasan orang tua pasien anak merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam menilai kualitas pelayanan keperawatan, khususnya pada pelayanan yang diberikan oleh perawat dengan pendekatan perilaku caring. Perilaku caring mencerminkan empati, tanggung jawab, dan komunikasi efektif antara perawat dan pasien maupun keluarganya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif korelasional dan metode studi cross-sectional. Sampel berjumlah 73 responden yang merupakan orang tua pasien anak di ruang rawat inap RSUD Provinsi Banten. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) dan kuesioner kepuasan berdasarkan teori Nursalam. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden 58,9% menilai perilaku caring perawat masih tergolong buruk, dan 52,1% menyatakan tidak puas terhadap pelayanan keperawatan. Uji chi-square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku caring perawat dengan kepuasan orang tua pasien anak (p = 0,000). Responden yang menilai perilaku caring perawat sebagai baik memiliki peluang 178 kali lebih besar untuk merasa puas dibandingkan dengan yang menilainya buruk (OR = 178,8; 95% CI: 20,3–1596,5). Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku caring perawat dengan tingkat kepuasan orang tua pasien anak. Semakin baik perilaku caring perawat, semakin tinggi pula tingkat kepuasan orang tua terhadap pelayanan yang diberikan. | |||||||||
