Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mental toughness and peak performance in swimming athletes in Cilegon. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a correlational approach. Data obtained by distributing questionnaires to swimming athletes in Cilegon totaling 100 people. The sample criteria in the study include: (1) athletes who often participate in championship competitions that are often held at the city, provincial and national levels, (2) the age of athletes is at least 17 years (Female and Male), (3) following the instruments given by researchers properly and fully. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data analysis test uses a simple linear regression analysis test. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between mental toughness and peak performance in swimming athletes in Cilegon. The results showed the value of r count = 0.618 and the value of p = 0.00, which means there is a significant relationship between mental toughness and peak performance in swimming athletes in Cilegon. The results showed the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) of 0.382, meaning that the contribution of mental toughness with peak performance to swimming athletes in Cilegon was 38.2%.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan mental toughness dengan peak performance pada atlet renang di Cilegon. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan koresional. Data yang diperoleh dengan menyebarkan angket kepada atlet renang di Cilegon berjumlah 100 orang. Adapun kriteria sampel dalam penelitian meliputi: (1) atlet yang sering mengikuti kompetisi kejuaraan yang sering diselenggarakan baik tingkat kota, provinsi maupun nasional, (2) usia atlet minimal 17 Tahun (Perempuan dan Laki-laki), (3) mengikuti instrumen yang diberikan peneliti secara baik dan penuh. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling. Uji analisis data menggunakan uji analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan mental toughness dengan peak performance pada atlet renang di Cilegon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai r hitung = 0,618 dan nilai p = 0,00, yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara mental toughness dengan peak performance pada atlet renang di Cilegon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai koefisien determinan (Adjusted R Square) sebesar 0,382 artinya sumbangan mental toughness dengan peak performance terhadap atlet renang di Cilegon sebesar 38.2%. | |||||||||
