Abstract
This study discusses the representation of loss and longing in the lyrics and music video of Gala Bunga Matahari by Sal Priadi using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The aim of this research is to reveal how the feelings of loss and longing are represented through three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. By analyzing the relationship between the lyrics and visual elements, the study identifies how these emotions are communicated both verbally and visually. The research method used is qualitative, employing Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis technique. Data collection techniques include literature study. The results of the study show that at the denotative level, the lyrics explicitly express the sense of loss and the desire to reconnect with a loved one who has passed away. Visual elements in the music video, such as interactions with sunflowers, symbolize an emotional connection with the departed. At the connotative level, the sunflower becomes a metaphor for eternal love, hope, and memory. The music video reinforces this symbol through the use of soft lighting, muted colors, and reflective imagery that depict a melancholic atmosphere. At the mythical level, the sunflower transcends its literal meaning and becomes a universal narrative about the transformation from grief to acceptance.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini membahas representasi rasa kehilangan dan kerinduan dalam lirik dan video klip Gala Bunga Matahari karya Sal Priadi dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana perasaan kehilangan dan kerinduan direpresentasikan melalui tiga tingkatan makna: denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Dengan menganalisis hubungan antara lirik dan elemen visual, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi cara emosi tersebut dikomunikasikan secara verbal dan visual. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Kualitatif dengan teknik analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah studi Pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada tingkat denotasi, lirik lagu secara eksplisit mengungkapkan kehilangan dan keinginan untuk kembali berhubungan dengan orang tercinta yang telah meninggal. Elemen visual dalam video klip, seperti interaksi dengan bunga matahari, menjadi simbol keterhubungan emosional dengan sosok yang telah pergi. Pada tingkat konotasi, bunga matahari menjadi metafora cinta abadi, harapan, dan kenangan. Video klip memperkuat simbol ini melalui penggunaan pencahayaan lembut, warna redup, dan gambar reflektif yang menggambarkan suasana melankolis. Pada tingkat mitos, bunga matahari melampaui makna literalnya dan menjadi narasi universal tentang transformasi dari duka menuju penerimaan. | |||||||||
