Abstract

Scientific literacy is needed in the learning process to discover material concepts through direct learning. One material that students consider quite boring and monotonous resulting in a lack of student motivation in learning is colloid material. This is because colloid material contains abstract and microscopic concepts, so a guided inquiry learning model based on scientific literacy is needed by implementing practicums which aim to enable students to solve problems regarding this material. The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes after implementing a guided inquiry learning model based on scientific literacy in colloidal materials. This research uses Pre Experimental research design with Pretest-Posttest One Group Design. The sample involved in this research was 30 XI MIPA 2 students. Improvement in student learning outcomes was measured through test questions and student responses. The results of this research can be concluded that the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model based on scientific literacy in colloidal materials can improve student learning outcomes by showing an N-Gain value of 0.823 which is included in the high category.

Additional Information: Literasi sains diperlukan dalam proses pembelajaran untuk menemukan konsep materi melalui pembelajaran secara langsung. Salah satu materi yang dianggap siswa cukup membosankan dan monoton sehingga kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran adalah materi koloid. Hal ini dikarenakan, materi koloid berisi konsep abstrak dan mikroskopik sehingga diperlukan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis literasi sains dengan menerapkan praktikum yang bertujuan agar siswa dapat memecahkan masalah mengenai materi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis literasi sains pada materi koloid. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pre Ekperimental dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest One Group Design. Sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 siswa XI MIPA 2. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa diukur melalui soal tes dan respon siswa. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis literasi sains pada materi koloid dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan terlihatnya nilai N-Gain yakni 0,823 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi.
