Abstract

Finding out how project-based learning affected the secondary year students' speaking abilities on recount texts at Vocational Senior High School 1 Kragilan was the aim of this study. The study was carried out using a quasi-experimental design and quantitative research methods. The secondary-year students from Vocational Senior High School 1 Kragilan made up the research population. The non-equivalent group design approach was used to choose the research sample. Each group, which had 30 pupils, was divided into an experimental group and a controlled group. At the start of the phase, the groups were given a pre-test. The experimental group was then administered the therapy twice. The groups were given a post-test to determine the effect. To ensure the validity and reliability of the instrument, the researcher employed KR-21 reliability and content validity. The researcher employed a t-test as a formula to test the hypothesis. The computation reveals The hypothesis test result indicated that the two-tailed Sig. value was 0.003. It suggests that 0.003 < 0.05 or that the Sig. value was less than 0.05. The fact that H1 was approved suggests that there was a notable difference in the way project- based learning was used to improve the speaking abilities of secondary school students at Vocational Senior High School 1 Kragilan when it came to recount texts. It has been proposed that an English instructor can teach speaking using Project-Based Learning.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembelajaran berbasis proyek mempengaruhi kemampuan berbicara siswa tahun kedua pada teks recount di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan 1 Kragilan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental dan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Siswa tahun kedua dari Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan 1 Kragilan menjadi populasi penelitian. Pendekatan desain kelompok non-ekuivalen digunakan untuk memilih sampel penelitian. Setiap kelompok, yang memiliki 30 siswa, dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pada awal fase, kelompok diberi tes awal. Kelompok eksperimen kemudian diberikan terapi dua kali. Kelompok diberi tes akhir untuk menentukan efeknya. Untuk memastikan validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen, peneliti menggunakan reliabilitas KR-21 dan validitas konten. Peneliti menggunakan uji-t sebagai rumus untuk menguji hipotesis. Perhitungan menunjukkan Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa Sig. dua sisi. Nilai adalah 0,003. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa 0,003 < 0,05 atau nilai Sig. kurang dari 0,05. Fakta bahwa H1 disetujui menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang nyata dalam cara pembelajaran berbasis proyek digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa sekolah menengah di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan 1 Kragilan dalam hal teks recount. Telah diusulkan bahwa seorang instruktur bahasa Inggris dapat mengajarkan berbicara menggunakan Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek.
