Abstract

This study aims to determine the development process, feasibility, and student responses to the big book word exploration learning media. This study uses a research and development (R&D) research method using the ADDIE model which has five stages including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The results of this research and development are big book word exploration learning media that can be used for early reading learning. This research was conducted at Cilaku Elementary School with 31 first grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques and procedures in this study used interviews, observations, documentation, tests, questionnaires, and expert validation tests. The results of the media expert validation got an average score of 87.6%. The results of the material expert validation got an average score of 84.9%. And the results of the language expert validation got an average score of 89%. Based on the validation results, the expert team got an accumulated value of 87.16% with a very feasible category. The results of the student response questionnaire got an average score of 97.8% and the results of the early reading ability test got a score of 91.86%. Thus, it can be concluded that the big book word exploration learning media is very suitable and very good for use in early reading learning in class I of elementary school.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan, kelayakan, dan respons siswa terhadap media pembelajaran big book jelajah kata. Penelitian ini mengggunakan metode penelitian research and development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang memiliki lima tahapan diantaranya analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Hasil dari penelitian dan pengembangan ini yaitu media pembelajaran big book jelajah kata yang dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran membaca permulaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Cilaku dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas I yang berjumlah 31 orang. Teknik dan prosedur pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, tes, angket, dan uji validasi ahli. Hasil validasi ahli media mendapatkan skor rata-rata 87,6%. Hasil validasi ahli materi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 84,9%. Dan hasil validasi ahli bahasa mendapatkan skor rata-rata 89%. Berdasarkan hasil validasi tim ahli mendapatkan nilai akumulasi 87,16% dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil angket respons siswa memperoleh skor rata-rata 97,8% dan hasil tes kemampuan membaca permulaan mendapatkan skor 91,86%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan media pembelajaran big book jelajah kata sangat layak dan sangat baik digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan di kelas I sekolah dasar.
