Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of video project in developing the speaking skills of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Kramatwatu. Using a pre-experimental design, a pre-test and post-test were administered to measure students’ progress before and after the treatment. The participants consisted of 22 students selected through random sampling. The treatment was conducted over three weeks, with two sessions per week, using video project-based storytelling as the primary method. The results, analyzed using the paired sample t-test in SPSS version 25, revealed a statistically significant improvement in students' speaking skills, particularly in pronunciation. The pre-test and post-test comparisons demonstrated that students had more time to explore word spelling and practice articulation, leading to better pronunciation. The hypothesis testing confirmed that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted, indicating a significant impact of video projects on speaking proficiency. These findings align with previous studies highlighting the benefits of technology integration in language learning. It is suggested that educators incorporate video projects as an engaging tool to improve students' speaking skills. Future research could explore different variables, such as larger sample sizes, extended treatment durations, or comparisons with other instructional methods.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini menyelidiki efektivitas proyek video dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas sembilan di SMP Negeri 3 Kramatwatu. Dengan menggunakan desain Pra-eksperimental, pre-test dan post-test diberikan untuk mengukur kemajuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Partisipan terdiri dari 22 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Perlakuan dilakukan selama tiga minggu, menggunakan video storytelling berbasis proyek sebagai metode utama. Hasilnya, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t sampel berpasangan di SPSS versi 25, menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik dalam keterampilan berbicara siswa, terutama dalam pengucapan. Perbandingan pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki lebih banyak waktu untuk mengeksplorasi pengejaan kata dan melatih artikulasi, yang mengarah pada pelafalan yang lebih baik. Pengujian hipotesis mengkonfirmasi bahwa hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak, sedangkan hipotesis alternatif (Hₐ) diterima, yang mengindikasikan adanya dampak yang signifikan dari proyek video terhadap kemahiran berbicara. Temuan ini sejalan dengan penelitian sebelumnya yang menyoroti manfaat integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Disarankan agar para pengajar menggunakan proyek video sebagai alat yang menarik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Penelitian di masa depan dapat mengeksplorasi variabel yang berbeda, seperti ukuran sampel yang lebih besar, durasi perawatan yang lebih lama, atau perbandingan dengan metode instruksional lainnya. | |||||||||
