Abstract
People communicate not only to convey or exchange messages/information, but also to create and maintain relationships. This study aims to describe the application of interpersonal communication of coaches in the formation of social care character of State Elementary School students in Sangiang Jaya Village, Tangerang City. This research uses descriptive method with data analysis through qualitative approach. The data collection in this study through interview techniques, observation, and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that the application of interpersonal communication between coaches and students has been running quite well. The coach has become a good communicator by communicating with students openly, being positive, showing empathy, upholding equality and showing support to students. The characters formed by the coach's communication in extracurricular scouting are helping, empathy, tolerance, social action, and noble character. The results show that the coach's interpersonal communication can be used in shaping students' social care character.

Additional Information: | Orang berkomunikasi tidak hanya untuk menyampaikan atau bertukar pesan/informasi, tetapi juga untuk menciptakan dan memelihara hubungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan komunikasi interpersonal pembina dalam pembentukan karakter kepedulian sosial siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kelurahan Sangiang Jaya Kota Tangerang. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan analisa data melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui teknik wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan komunikasi interpersonal pembina dengan siswa sudah berjalan cukup baik. Pembina telah menjadi komunikator yang baik dengan berkomunikasi dengan siswa secara terbuka, bersikap positif, menunjukan sikap empati, menjunjung tinggi kesetaraan serta menunjukan dukungan kepada siswa. Karakter yang dibentuk dengan komunikasi pembina dalam ekstrakurikuler pramuka adalah tolong menolong, empati, toleransi, aksi sosial, dan berakhlak mulia. Hasil menunjukan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal pembina dapat menjadi hal yang digunakan dalam membentuk karakter kepedulian sosial siswa. | |||||||||
