Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the economy but often encounter challenges in managing their supply chains, especially in facing competition from imported products and in achieving cost efficiency. This study focused on optimizing inventory costs in MSMEs to improve operational performance and business competitiveness. The implementation of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock (SS), and Reorder Point (ROP) methods in raw material inventory management—specifically coconut sugar as applied by UMKM Kawung LDK—has been proven effective in reducing procurement and storage expenses while maintaining adequate stock levels. Using the EOQ approach, the optimal order quantity increased significantly from 150 kg to 894 kg (496%), while the frequency of ordering decreased from 12 times to just 2 times annually (83%). The reorder point rose from 150 kg to 422 kg (181%), and safety stock levels increased from 150 kg to 398 kg (165%) to better anticipate demand fluctuations and supply delays. Most notably, the total inventory cost decreased by 79%, from Rp13,200,000 to Rp2,787,035, reflecting substantial efficiency gains without compromising raw material availability for production.

Penerapan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock (SS), dan Reorder Point (ROP) dalam manajemen persediaan bahan baku—khususnya gula kelapa yang diterapkan oleh UMKM Kawung LDK—terbukti efektif dalam menekan biaya pengadaan dan penyimpanan sambil tetap menjaga tingkat stok yang memadai. Dengan pendekatan EOQ, jumlah pemesanan optimal meningkat secara signifikan dari 150 kg menjadi 894 kg (496%), sementara frekuensi pemesanan menurun dari 12 kali menjadi hanya 2 kali per tahun (83%). Titik pemesanan kembali (ROP) meningkat dari 75 kg menjadi 422 kg (463%), dan tingkat persediaan pengaman (safety stock) meningkat dari 150 kg menjadi 398 kg (165%) untuk mengantisipasi fluktuasi permintaan dan keterlambatan pasokan. Yang paling menonjol, total biaya persediaan menurun sebesar 79%, dari Rp13.200.000 menjadi Rp2.787.035, mencerminkan peningkatan efisiensi yang signifikan tanpa mengorbankan ketersediaan bahan baku untuk produksi.
