Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology in the 21st century has led P21 (Partnership for 21st Century Learning) to develop a framework for 21st- century learning. This framework emphasizes that students must acquire: (1) life and career skills, (2) learning and innovation skills, and (3) information, media, and technology skills. Students are expected to master the 4Cs— creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication—to compete effectively in the future. Currently, school education is oriented toward 21st- century learning, where teachers are required to implement the 4C competencies in teaching and learning activities. STEAM-based learning can serve as a solution to facilitate students in developing their 4C skills. STEAM is a learning approach designed to prepare students to face 21st-century challenges by integrating five disciplines—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—into the learning process. This research employs the 4D model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The STEAM-based teaching module on Electrolysis Cells was validated by seven experts, and the validation results for both content and media were deemed valid. The content and media validity results surpassed the minimum Aiken’s Vtable in all aspects, with an average score of 0.92 for content and 0.96 for media. These results categorize the teaching module as "Valid" for use in learning activities. The STEAM-based teaching module on Electrolysis Cells was implemented in a limited trial involving 30 twelfth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang. The trial aimed to evaluate student responses to the developed module, resulting in an average score of 91% across all aspects, categorized as "Very Good."

Additional Information: Pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di abad21, membuat P21 (Partnership for 21st Century Learning) mengembangkan kerangka pembelajaran abad-21, yaitu peserta didik harus memiliki; (1) keterampilan hidup dan karir, (2) keterampilan belajar dan inovasi, (3) keterampilan informasi, media, dan teknologi. Peserta didik setidaknya harus menguasai 4C, yaitu creativity (kreativitas), collaboration(kolaborasi), critical thinking (berpikir kritis), dan communication (komunikasi) agar dapat bersaing di masa depan. Saat ini, pembelajaran di sekolah sudah berorientasi pada pembelajaran abad 21, yaitu guru diharuskan untuk menerapkan kemampuan 4C kepada peserta didik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, Pembelajaran berbasis STEAM dapat menjadi sebuah solusi untuk memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam mengembangkan kemampuan 4C. STEAM merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang; mempersiapkan peserta didik menghadapi tantangan abad 21 dengan mengintegrasikan 5 disiplin ilmu, yaitu sains, teknologi, teknik, seni, dan matematika dalam proses pembelajarannya . Metode penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D dengan tahapan Define (pendefinisian), Design (perancangan), Develop (pengembangan) dan Disseminate (penyebaran). Modul Ajar Berbasis STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Marhemathics) Pada Materi Sel Elektrolisis ini di validasi oleh 7 orang ahli dengan nilai validasi materi dan media dinyatakan valid. Hasil validitas ahli materi dan media menunjukkan hasil yang lebih besar dari Vtabel Aiken’s minimum yaitu pada setiap aspek. Nilai rata – rata pada aspek materi yaitu 0,92 dan aspek media yaitu 0,96. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran dikategorikan “Valid” untuk digunakan. Modul Ajar Berbasis STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathemathics) Pada Materi Sel Elektrolisis ini diimplementasikan dengan uji terbatas kepada 30 orang siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap media yang dikembangkan mendapatkan nilai rata-rata seluruh aspek yaitu 91% dan dikategorikan “Sangat Baik”.
