Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between student’s creative thinking ability and critical thinking in narrative writing skills at senior high school. The research method used is a correlational design with a purposive sampling process. This sample consists of 30 students from Class X1-2 at MAS Mathlaul Falah Lempuyang. Based on the data obtained, the average score for Creative Thinking was 81.3, for Critical Thinking was 85.7, and for Writing Skill was 81.7. The T-test results indicated that both Creative Thinking and Critical Thinking have a positive and significant influence on Writing Skill. The coefficient of determination (R-square) obtained is 0.447. Additionally, the calculated F-value (19.145) is greater than the tabulated F-value (3.34), and the probability value is 0.001, which is less than 0.05. Finally, the researcher concludes that there is a significant and positive relationship between students' creative thinking and critical thinking abilities and their narrative writing skills.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan korelasi antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan berpikir kritis siswa dalam keterampilan menulis naratif di sekolah menengah atas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain korelasional dengan proses purposive sampling. Sampel ini terdiri dari 30 siswa dari Kelas X1-2 di MAS Mathlaul Falah Lempuyang. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, skor rata-rata untuk Berpikir Kreatif adalah 81,3, untuk Berpikir Kritis adalah 85,7, dan untuk Keterampilan Menulis adalah 81,7. Hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa baik Berpikir Kreatif maupun Berpikir Kritis memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Keterampilan Menulis. Koefisien determinasi (R-square) yang diperoleh adalah 0,447. Selain itu, nilai F hitung (19,145) lebih besar dari nilai F tabel (3,34), dan nilai probabilitas adalah 0,001, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Akhirnya peneliti menemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan berpikir kritis siswa dengan keterampilan menulis naratif mereka.
