Abstract

The transportation sector is considered as one of the most potential sectors in causing air pollution when compared to other sectors. The contribution of vehicle exhaust gas as a source of air pollution in big cities reaches 60-70%, while the contribution of exhaust gas from industrial chimneys is around 10-15%. The rest comes from other combustion sources such as households, garbage burning, forest fires and others. This study aims to look at vehicle volume, (CO) levels, and meteorology by analyzing the relationship between traffic density and air quality in urban areas. The analysis method used in this study refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 12 of 2010 concerning the implementation of air pollution control in the region. Total vehicles during the 4 days of the study amounted to 62244 units of vehicles. Vehicle volume tends to be high on Monday at 06.15 - 07.15 WIB and on Tuesday at 06.15 - 07.15 WIB. Gas concentration data (CO) tends to be high in the morning and evening. This is due to the high volume of vehicles that cause congestion, causing (CO) levels to be high, and the calculation of (CO) gas concentration levels at the location is included in the very unhealthy air quality category on Monday at 11:30 - 12:30 WIB, the rest is included in the hazardous category because it has exceeded the 300 range. This is because the research location has a land use function that focuses on services and industrial production. The results of the study show that there is a tendency with the increase in the number of vehicles, the level of gas concentration (CO) will increase, as well as if the number of vehicles decreases, the level of gas concentration (CO) will decrease.

Additional Information: Sektor transportasi dianggap sebagai salah satu sektor yang paling berpotensi dalam menyebabkan pencemaran udara jika dibandingkan dengan sektor lainnya. Kontribusi gas buang kendaraan sebagai sumber polusi udara di kota-kota besar mencapai 60-70% kontribusi gas buang yang berasal dari cerobong asap industri sekitar 10-15%. Sisanya berasal dari pembakaran lain seperti rumah tangga, pembakaran sampah, kebakaran hutan dan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat volume kendaraan, kadar (CO), dan meteorologi dengan menganalisis hubungan antara kepadatan lalu lintas dengan kualitas udara di area perkotaan. Metode analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini mengacu pada Peraturan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 12 tahun 2010 tentang pelaksanaan pengendalian pencemaran udara di daerah. Total kendaraan selama 4 hari penelitian sebesar 62244 unit kendaraan. Volume kendaraan cenderung tinggi pada Senin pukul 06.15 – 07.15 WIB dan pada Selasa pukul 06.15 – 07.15 WIB. Data konsentrasi gas (CO) cenderung tinggi pada pagi dan sore hari. Hal ini karena tingginya volume kendaraan yang menimbulkan kemacetan sehingga menyebabkan kadar (CO) menjadi tinggi, dan perhitungan kadar konsentrasi gas (CO) di lokasi tersebut termasuk ke dalam kategori kualitas udara sangat tidak sehat pada Senin pukul 11.30 – 12.30 WIB, selebihnya termasuk ke dalam kategori berbahaya karna telah melebihi rentang 300. Hal ini disebabkan karna lokasi penelitian memiliki fungsi tata guna lahan yang berfokus pada jasa dan produksi industri. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada kecenderungan dengan bertambahnya jumlah kendaraan maka kadar konsentrasi gas (CO) akan bertambah, begitu pun jika jumlah kendaraannya berkurang maka kadar konsentrasi gas (CO) akan berkurang.
