Abstract
Expansive soil with high plasticity and low bearing capacity, poses a challenge in construction due to its volume changes with moisture. This study examines the use of lime and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), where lime acts as an activator for GGBFS to enhance soil strength and particle bonding. The pavement in Kampung Pasirmeong, Kaungcaang Village, Cadasari District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, has a very low soil bearing capacity with a CBR value of 1.85%, necessitating soil stabilization. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding lime and GGBFS on the soaked CBR value, using 7% lime and 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% GGBFS. Based on the results, the soil sample was classified as class OH (high plasticity organic clay). The plasticity index (PI) decreased from 18.924% to 3.876%, and the soaked CBR value increased to 16.81% with an optimal mixture of 7% lime and 15% GGBFS. This combination also reduced the swelling value from 2.83% to 0.72% (moderate swelling). Thus, lime and GGBFS effectively increase the bearing capacity of clay soil and reduce swelling potential.

Penelitian ini mengkaji penggunaan kapur dan Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), di mana kapur berfungsi sebagai aktivator bagi GGBFS untuk meningkatkan kekuatan dan ikatan partikel tanah. Jalan perkerasan di Kampung Pasirmeong, Desa Kaungcaang, Kecamatan Cadasari, Kabupaten Pandeglang, Banten memiliki daya dukung tanah sangat rendah yaitu CBR sebesar 1,85%, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan stabilisasi tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan kapur dan GGBFS terhadap nilai CBR soaked dengan variasi 7% kapur dan 10 %, 15 %, 20 % dan 25 % GGBFS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sampel tanah diklasifikasikan sebagai kelas OH (Tanah lempung organik berplastisitas tinggi). Terjadi penurunan nilai IP dari 18,924 % menjadi 3,876 % dan peningkatan nilai CBR soaked menjadi 16,81 % dengan persentase optimum pada kadar kapur 7% dan GGBFS 15 %. Kombinasi keduanya juga menurunkan nilai swelling dari 2,83 % menjadi 0,72 % (pengembangan sedang). Dengan demikian, kapur dan GGBFS mampu menaikkan daya dukung tanah lempung dan mengurangi potensi swelling. | |||||||||
