Abstract
The problem investigated in this study is the low level of self-efficacy among 11thgrade students at SMA Negeri 1 Bayah, which may hinder their potential development in the educational environment. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the role-playing technique in improving the self-efficacy of 11thgrade students at SMA Negeri 1 Bayah. The research subjects consisted of 72 students divided into two groups: an experimental class (XI-5, 16 male and 20 female students) and a control class (XI-1, 18 male and 18 female students). The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research instrument was a self-efficacy questionnaire that had been validated for reliability. The intervention involved applying the role-playing technique in the experimental class, while the control class used conventional teaching methods. The results showed that before the intervention, most students in the experimental class (97.2%) were in the moderate self-efficacy category, while 61% of the control class students were in the same category. After the intervention, a significant improvement was observed in the experimental class, with all students (100%) achieving high self-efficacy levels. Statistical analysis using the Mann Whitney U test revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with an Asymp. Sig value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). This study concludes that the role-playing technique is effective in improving students' self-efficacy. Future researchers are encouraged to expand the sample size and explore the application of this technique in other contexts.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas teknik role playing dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Bayah. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 72 siswa yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok: kelas eksperimen (XI-5, 16 siswa laki-laki dan 20 siswa perempuan) dan kelas kontrol (XI-1, 18 siswa laki-laki dan 18 siswa perempuan). Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi-eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket kepercayaan diri yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Perlakuan berupa penerapan teknik role playing pada kelas eksperimen, sementara kelas kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi, sebagian besar siswa di kelas eksperimen (97,2%) berada pada kategori kepercayaan diri sedang, sementara 61% siswa di kelas kontrol berada pada kategori yang sama. Setelah intervensi, terjadi peningkatan signifikan di kelas eksperimen, di mana seluruh siswa (100%) mencapai kategori kepercayaan diri tinggi. Analisis statistik dengan Mann Whitney U test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai Asymp. Sig sebesar 0,001 (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah teknik role playing terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa.
