Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of using the Padlet application in teaching descriptive text writing to seventh-grade students at SMPIT Bunayya. The research focuses on determining whether the Padlet application can significantly enhance students' writing performance compared to traditional methods. This quasi-experimental study involved two groups: an experimental group that utilized Padlet and a control group that followed conventional instruction. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test, focusing on key writing components such as vocabulary, structure, and content clarity. The results were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 25 to assess reliability and correlation coefficients. The findings indicate that students in the experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in their descriptive writing abilities, supporting the hypothesis that Padlet can be an effective tool for teaching descriptive text. This research suggests that Padlet can serve as a beneficial digital resource in language instruction, providing an engaging and interactive platform for enhancing students' writing skill.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi Padlet dalam pengajaran menulis teks deskriptif kepada siswa kelas tujuh di SMPIT Bunayya. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penentuan apakah aplikasi Padlet dapat meningkatkan kinerja menulis siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan metode tradisional. Studi kuasi-eksperimental ini melibatkan dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan Padlet dan kelompok kontrol yang mengikuti instruksi konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui pra-tes dan pasca-tes, dengan fokus pada komponen-komponen penulisan utama seperti kosakata, struktur, dan kejelasan konten. Hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 25 untuk menilai reliabilitas dan koefisien korelasi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis deskriptif mereka, mendukung hipotesis bahwa Padlet dapat menjadi alat yang efektif untuk mengajarkan teks deskriptif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Padlet dapat berfungsi sebagai sumber daya digital yang bermanfaat dalam pengajaran bahasa, menyediakan platform yang menarik dan interaktif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.
