Abstract

This study aims to find out the difference in the problem-solving ability of students who use the Problem Based Learning model and the problem-solving ability of students who use the direct learning model as well as to find out whether the Problem Based Learning model is better compared to the direct learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study is all grade III students at SDN Pulogebang 01. The determination of samples in this study was carried out by cluster random sampling technique and samples were obtained, namely class III A which applies as an experimental class and class III B which applies as a control class. The results of this study show that the average student in class III A who uses the Problem Based Learning model is 85.55 while the average student in class III B who uses the direct learning model is 75.23. Based on the average acquisition, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the problem-solving ability of students who use the Problem Based Learning model and students who use the direct learning model. In addition, the problem-solving ability of students who use the Problem Based Learning model is better than students who use the direct learning model.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung sekaligus untuk mengetahui apakah model Problem Based Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain non-equivalent control group. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas III di SDN Pulogebang 01. Penetapan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan diperoleh sampel yaitu kelas III A yang berlaku sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas III B yang berlaku sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan rata-rata peserta didik di kelas III A yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning adalah sebesar 85,55 sedangkan rata-rata peserta didik di kelas III B yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung adalah sebesar 75,23. Berdasarkan pemerolehan rata-rata tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Selain itu, kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung.
