Abstract

The design of production capacity is an essential process for a company planning to build its production facility. This process aims to optimize the utilization of available resources to achieve the desired production targets. This study focuses on designing the production capacity for frozen vegetable processing through the development of a mathematical model. The mathematical model developed is a linear programming (LP) model with the objective function of minimizing lost sales and operational costs. The proposed linear programming model serves as a reference for decision-making at the operational level. The results obtained through data processing using Lingo Solver 20.0 and Microsoft Excel indicate that the solution provided by the developed model amounts to IDR 5,852,000 for lost sales and IDR 72,555,786 for the total operational costs required.

Additional Information: Perencanaan kapasitas produksi adalah hal yang mutlak dilakukan oleh sebuah perusahaan yang akan membangun fasilitas produksinya, dengan tujuan untuk mengoptimumkan pengelolaan sumber daya yang dimiliki sehingga tercapainya target produksi yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini merancang kapasitas produksi pengolahan frozen vegetables melalui pengembangan model matematika. Adapun model matematika yang dikembangkan ialah model matematika linear programming (LP) dengan fungsi objektif untuk meminimasikan jumlah lost sales dan biaya operasional. Model linear programming yang dikembangkan dapat dijadikan sebagai rujukan untuk pengambilan keputusan pada tingkat operasional. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan pengolahan data yang dilakukan dengan software Lingo Solver 20.0 dan Microsoft excel, menunjukan bahwa solusi yang dihasilkan dari model yang dikembangkan adalah sejumlah Rp. 5.852.000 untuk lost sales dan Rp. 72.555.786 untuk total biaya operasional yang dibutuhkan.
