Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of extrinsic motivation (X1) and occupational health and safety (X2) on employee performance (Y) through job satisfaction (Z) as an intervening variable. The research employs a quantitative method. The population involved in the study consists of 92 employees of PT PLN (Persero) Banten Selatan, with the entire population being used as the sample through a census sampling technique. Data analysis is conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS 4.1 tool. The research findings indicate that: (1) Extrinsic motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (2) Occupational health and safety have a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (3) Extrinsic motivation positively and significantly affects job satisfaction; (4) Occupational health and safety positively and significantly affect job satisfaction; (5) Job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact on employee performance; (6) Job satisfaction mediates the relationship between extrinsic motivation and employee performance; (7) Job satisfaction mediates the relationship between occupational health and safety and employee performance.
