Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of applying chicken manure fertilizer at various doses and different timing of pruning on the growth and yield of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.). This research was conducted in Medong Village, Mekarjaya, Pandeglang Banten, from August to October 2024. The study used a Randomized Block Design with two factors. The first factor involved applying chicken manure at four levels: 0 tons/ha (A0), 15 tons/ha (A1), 20 tons/ha (A2), and 25 tons/ha (A3). The second factor was pruning time, also at four levels: control (P0), 21 days after planting (DAP) (P1), 28 DAP (P2), and 35 DAP (P3). These two factors produced 16 treatment combinations, with each combination repeated four times, resulting in a total of 64 experimental units. The research results showed that the application of chicken manure had a highly significant effect on the number of leaves parameter, with an average of 8 leaves at 2 weeks after planting (WAP), 11 leaves at 3 WAP, 17 leaves at 4 WAP, and 23 leaves at 5 WAP. The plant height parameter at 20 days after planting (DAP) averaged 63 cm, and the number of fruits per plant reached 8. The pruning treatment had no significant effect on any of the parameters. There was an interaction between the two treatments for the number of fruits per plant in the A3P0 treatment (25 tons/ha without pruning). However, no interaction was observed for other parameters, such as the number of leaves, plant height, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant.

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Medong, Mekarjaya, Pandeglang Banten, pada bulan Agustus hingga Oktober 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan Random Block Design dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama melibatkan pengaplikasian kotoran ayam pada empat tingkatan: 0 ton/ha (A0), 15 ton/ha (A1), 20 ton/ha (A2), dan 25 ton/ha (A3). Faktor kedua adalah waktu pemangkasan, juga pada empat tingkatan: kontrol (P0), 21 hari setelah tanam (DAP) (P1), 28 DAP (P2), dan 35 DAP (P3). Kedua faktor ini menghasilkan 16 kombinasi perlakuan, dengan setiap kombinasi diulang empat kali, menghasilkan total 64 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi kotoran ayam memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan terhadap parameter jumlah daun, dengan rata-rata 8 daun pada 2 minggu setelah tanam (WAP), 11 daun pada 3 WAP, 17 daun pada 4 WAP, dan 23 daun pada 5 WAP. Parameter tinggi tanaman pada 20 hari setelah tanam (DAP) rata-rata 63 cm, dan jumlah buah per tanaman mencapai 8. Perlakuan pemangkasan tidak memiliki efek signifikan pada salah satu parameter. Ada interaksi antara kedua perlakuan untuk jumlah buah per tanaman pada perlakuan A3P0 (25 ton/ha tanpa pemangkasan). Namun, tidak ada interaksi yang diamati untuk parameter lain, seperti jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman, panjang buah, diameter buah, dan berat buah per tanaman. | |||||||||
