Abstract

This research is motivated by the misconception that occurs when students have a wrong understanding of acid-base material. This study aims to develop a five-tier-based diagnostic test instrument on acid base chemical materials and determine the feasibility of a five-tier-based diagnostic test instrument that has been developed. This research uses the R&D (Research & Development) method with a 4D development model which is carried out up to the Develop stage. Define Stage The researcher conducts a literature review, analyzes the curriculum and analyzes the concept. The Design stage is carried out the preparation of a grid and the creation of question indicators. In the Develop stage, a five-tier instrument was prepared which was then validated by 7 experts. The results of the instrument validation were obtained as many as 20 valid questions which were then tested to 35 respondents to determine the validity, reliability, level of difficulty and differentiation. The five-tier diagnostic test instrument showed a CVR value that exceeded the value of 0.99 and a reliability test value of 0.773 indicating a good level of reliability so that this instrument was declared valid and suitable for use. The highest misconception results in acid-base matter were obtained in the concept of ionization settings (Ka/Kb) of 30.61% with the source of misconception coming from personal thoughts (MC-PT).

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya miskonsepsi yang berlangsung ketika siswa memiliki pemahaman yang keliru pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah instrumen tes diagnostik berbasis five-tier pada materi kimia asam basa serta mengetahui kelayakan sebuah instrument tes diagnostik berbasis five-tier yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D (Research & Development) dengan model pengembangan 4D yang dilakukan sampai tahap Develop. Tahap Define Peneliti melakukan kajian literatur, menganalisis kurikulum dan menganalisis konsep. Tahap Design dilakukan penyusunan kisi-kisi dan pembuatan indikator soal. Tahap Develop, dilakukan penyusunan instrument five-tier yang selanjutnya divalidasi oleh 7 orang ahli. Hasil validasi instrument diperoleh sebanyak 20 butir soal valid yang kemudian dilakukan uji terbatas kepada 35 responden guna mengetahui validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya beda. Instrumen tes diagnostik five-tier menunjukkan nilai CVR yang melebihi nilai 0,99 dan nilai uji reliabilitas sebesar 0,773 menunjukkan tingkat reliabilitas yang baik sehingga instrument ini dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan. Diperoleh hasil miskonsepsi tertinggi pada materi asam basa terdapat pada konsep tetapan ionisasi (Ka/Kb) sebesar 30,61% dengan sumber miskonsepsi berasal dari pemikiran pribadi (MC-PT).
