Abstract
This thesis focuses on the meaning of the Burdah tradition for the people of Umbul Tengah Village. The aim of this research is to find out more about the meaning of the people of Umbul Tengah Subdistrict towards the burdah tradition and why the Burdah Tradition is still being implemented. The method used in this research is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity checking techniques use source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles & Huberman interactive model which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The theory used is Emile Durkheim's Social Sentiment theory. The informants in this research were the Ulama of the Raudathul Jannah Council, people who follow the Burdah tradition, and experts in the sociology of religion. Based on the field findings obtained by researchers, it was found that the people of Umbul Tengah Village still tightly adhere to the traditions inherited from their ancestors and previous teachers. The people's immense love for the great prophet Muhammad SAW has made the burdah tradition a place for religious expression and enthusiasm which is still maintained by the people of Umbul Tengah Village. Not only that, the reason the people of Umbul Tengah Village continue to carry on the Burdah Tradition to this day is because the Burdah Tradition and the community have close ties so that the Burdah Tradition continues to be carried out forever by the people of Umbul Tengah Village. Apart from the bonds that cannot be separated, there are also values and meanings contained in the Burdah Tradition.

| Additional Information: | Skripsi ini berfokus pada Makna Tradisi Burdah bagi Masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah. Adapun tujuan dari peneltian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui lebih dalam pemaknaan masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah terhadap tradisi burdah dan mengapa Tradisi Burdah masih terus dilaksanakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan, triangulasi sumber, dan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model interaktif Miles & Huberman yang terdiri atas pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Sentiment Kemasyarakatan Emile Durkheim. Informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Ulama Majelis Raudathul Jannah, Masyarakat yang mengikuti Tradisi Burdah, dan Pakar Sosiologi Agama. Berdasarkan hasil temuan lapangan yang didapatkan peneliti ditemukan bahwa masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah masih memegang erat tradisi yang diwariskan dari leluhur dan guru-guru mereka terdahulu. Kecintaan masyarakat yang sangat besar terhadap nabi besar Muhammad SAW menjadikan Tradisi burdah ini sebagai wadah ekspresi dan semangat keagamaan yang masih tetap dipertahankan oleh masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah. Tak hanya itu, alasan masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah tetap melangsungkan Tradisi Burdah hingga saat ini dikarenakan antara Tradisi Burdah dengan Masyarakat itu memiliki ikatan yang erat sehingga Tradisi Burdah tetap langgeng dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Kelurahan Umbul Tengah. Selain ikatan yang tak bisa dilepaskan muncul juga nilai dan makna yang terkandung dalam Tradisi Burdah. | |||||||||
