Abstract

The modeling technique is used as one of the learning methods used to teach children with disabilities in personal hygiene skills using sanitary napkins. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the application of modeling techniques on improving the ability of personal hygiene using sanitary napkins in medium school students in SKh 03 Lebak. Junior High School and SMALB students in grades VIII, X and XI became the subjects of the study, with a total of 4 subjects, who had the ability to have personal hygiene skills that were still lacking which was characterized by (not being able to use, wash and dispose of sanitary napkins independently and correctly according to menstrual health management rules). An experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design was used for this study. Data collection was carried out through tests and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. Based on the calculations carried out with the Wilcoxon test for the application of modeling techniques to the ability to use personal hygiene pads in students with disabilities, the results were obtained that Tcount = 0 and the critical value of the Wilcoxon test at the significance level of 0.05 with the number N = 4, then Thicount = Ttable because 0 = 0, then the application of modeling techniques can have an impact on improving the ability of personal hygiene skills using sanitary napkins in students with special needs.

Additional Information: Teknik modelling dijadikan sebagai salah satu metode pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk mengajar anak tunagrahita dalam keterampilan personal hygiene menggunakan pembalut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan teknik modelling terhadap peningkatan kemampuan personal hygiene menggunakan pembalut pada siswa tungrahita sedang di SKh 03 Lebak. Siswa SMPLB dan SMALB kelas VIII, X dan XI menjadi subyek penelitian, dengan jumlah subyek keseluruhan 4 orang, yang memiliki kemampuan keterampilan personal hygiene masih kurang yang ditandai dengan (tidak mampu menggunakan, mencuci dan membuang pembalut secara mandiri dan benar sesuai aturan manajemen kesehatan menstruasi). Metode eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest design digunakan untuk penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon. Berdasarkan perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan uji Wilcoxon untuk penerapan teknik modelling terhadap kemampuan personal hygiene memakai pembalut pada siswa tunagrahita didapatkan hasil bahwa Thitung = 0 dan nilai kritis uji Wilcoxon pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan angka N = 4, maka Thitung = Ttabel karena 0 = 0, maka penerapan teknik modelling dapat memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan kemampuan keterampilan personal hygiene menggunakan pembalut pada siswa kerkebutuhan khusus.
