Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of Gibberellin soaking time and H2SO4 Concentration Level on the germination of manila sapodilla seeds (Manilkara zapota L.) seeds. The research was conducted at the greenhouse of housing area Rawalumbu, Bekasi, West Java from Juni until Agustus 2023. This research used a completely randomized design with two factor. The first factor, was Gibberellin soaking time treatment (L), which consisted of 3 levels, namely soaking time 6 hours (L0), soaking time 12 hours (L1), and soaking time 18 hours (L2). The second factor, was H2SO4 Concentration Level (K), which consisted of 4 levels, namely without H2SO4 (control) (K0), Concentration 40% (K1), Concentration 60% (K2), Concentration 80% (K3). The results in this research showed that Gibberellin soaking treatment with a soaking time of 6 hours gave the best effect on growth speed parameters (2.44%/ day). Treatment with a H2SO4 concentration level of 80% gave the best effect, namely on the parameters of maximum growth potential (88.89%), germination power (86.67%), growth speed (2.88%/day), as well as on the parameters of non-growing seeds. amounted to (13.33%). There was no interaction between the length of gibberellin soaking treatment and the level of H2SO4 concentration on all parameters observed.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman Giberelin dan Tingkat Konsentrasi H2SO4 terhadap perkecambahan benih sawo manila (Manilkara zapota L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah kaca perumahan Rawalumbu, Bekasi, Jawa Barat pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah perlakuan lama perendaman Giberelin (L) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu lama perendaman 6 jam (L0), lama perendaman 12 jam (L1), dan lama perendaman 18 jam (L2). Faktor kedua adalah tingkat Konsentrasi H2SO4 (K) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu tanpa H2SO4 (kontrol) (K0), Konsentrasi 40% (K1), Konsentrasi 60% (K2), Konsentrasi 80% (K3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan perendaman Giberelin dengan lama perendaman 6 jam memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap parameter kecepatan tumbuh (2,44%/hari). Perlakuan dengan konsentrasi H2SO4 80% memberikan pengaruh terbaik yaitu pada parameter potensi tumbuh maksimal (88,89%), daya berkecambah (86,67%), kecepatan tumbuh (2,88%/hari), serta pada parameter benih tidak tumbuh sebesar (13,33%). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan lama perendaman giberelin dengan tingkat konsentrasi H2SO4 pada seluruh parameter yang diamati.
