Abstract
The research is motivated by students with intellectual disabilities who are still unable to concentrate during learning. One method assumed to help improve students' concentration is Brain Gym. Brain Gym is a series of simple movements designed to stimulate optimal brain function. This study aims to examine the application of the Brain Gym method in improving concentration among grade VII students with intellectual disabilities at SMPKH-C1 in SKh Samantha, Kota Serang. The study employs a single-subject experimental method (Single Subject Research) with an A-B-A research design. The target behavior in this study is improving learning concentration. Data collected from Subject 1 and Subject 2 show that the mean level in the Baseline-1 phase (A1) was 5.33 and 4.84, respectively. In this phase, both subjects were observed under natural conditions without intervention. During the Intervention phase (B), the average mean level increased to 8.5 and 7.95, as subjects received interventions using the Brain Gym method. Meanwhile, in the Baseline-2 phase (A2), the average mean level decreased slightly to 6.66 and 6 but remained higher than in Baseline-1. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the Brain Gym method has a positive impact on improving the learning concentration of students with intellectual disabilities in grade VII SMPKH-C1 at SKh Samantha, Kota Serang.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual yang masih belum mampu berkonsentrasi ketika belajar. Salah satu metode peningkatan konsentrasi, yang diasumsikan dapat membantu dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi peserta didik, yaitu metode Brain Gym. Brain Gym atau senam otak merupakan suatu rangkaian gerakan sederhana yang di desain merangsang optimalisasi otak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Brain Gym dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi pada peserta didik kelas VII SMPKH-C1 di SKh Samantha Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan subjek tunggal (Single Subject Research) dan desain penelitian A-B-A. Target Behavior dalam penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar. Perolehan data terhadap subjek 1 dan subjek 2 yang didapat dari nilai mean level fase Baseline-1 (A1) adalah 5,33 dan 4,84 pada fase ini kedua subjek diteliti berada dalam kondisi alamiah tanpa adanya perlakukan atau Intervensi. Pada fase Intervensi (B) rata-rata persentase atau mean level subjek sebesar 8,5 dan 7,95 pada fase ini subjek sudah mulai diberikan perlakuan atau Intervensi berupa metode Brain Gym. Sementara pada fase Baseline-2 (A2) rata-rata presentase atau mean level subjek 6,66 dan 6 atau meningkat dari Baseline-1. Bedasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan penerapan metode Brain Gym memberikan dampak positif dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya konsentrasi belajar anak dengan hambatan intelektual kelas VII SMPKH-C1 di SKh Samantha kota serang. | |||||||||
