Abstract

This researcher’s aim is to find out the implementation and the students' perceptions of the Snowball Throwing Technique in teaching reading comprehension at SMK PGRI 1 Serang City. This research used a qualitative research approach, the findings reveal that Snowball Throwing Technique is an effective method for improving students' comprehension skills. This technique fosters a positive and dynamic learning environment by encouraging active participation and engagement. Students report that Snowball Throwing Technique makes learning easier, accelerates understanding, provides additional insight, and creates an enjoyable experience. Group discussions and collaborative activities allow students to increase their understanding while fostering a sense of shared responsibility within the group. Accurate task results and positive feedback further highlight the effectiveness of this technique in supporting the learning process. This research concludes that the Snowball Throwing Technique significantly increases students' understanding and engagement in reading comprehension.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi dan persepsi siswa terhadap Teknik Snowball Throwing dalam pengajaran membaca pemahaman di SMK PGRI 1 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa Teknik Snowball Throwing adalah metode yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa. Teknik ini menumbuhkan lingkungan belajar yang positif dan dinamis dengan mendorong partisipasi aktif dan keterlibatan. Siswa melaporkan bahwa Teknik Snowball Throwing membuat belajar lebih mudah, mempercepat pemahaman, memberikan wawasan tambahan, dan menciptakan pengalaman yang menyenangkan. Diskusi kelompok dan kegiatan kolaboratif memungkinkan siswa untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mereka sambil menumbuhkan rasa tanggung jawab bersama dalam kelompok. Hasil tugas yang akurat dan umpan balik yang positif semakin menyoroti keefektifan teknik ini dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Teknik Snowball Throwing secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman.
