Abstract

Flood is a common issue in Jakarta during the rainy season. One solution to control flood in Jakarta is through the implementation of the Polder System. Grogol Polder System, located in west Jakarta with 4 drainage channels, a polder ponds, and 2 flood control pump with a capacity 1 m³/s, along with additional pumps with a capacity 0,7 m³/s. flood control withinthe polder system heavily relies by the capacity and operation of the pump, considering that elevation in the polder system is lower than the main channel. This research aims to obtain information on the inflow discharge of the polder pond for return period of 2 and 5 years, as well as to understand the pump operation pattern during floods in the grogol polder system. The data analysis process begins with rainfall calculation using the isohyet method in a specific area, conducting frequency analysis of rainfall data, modelling using the TR-55 Software, and analyzing pump operation patterns based on the inflow discharge of the polder pond, The research results showed that the inflow discharge for 2 and 5-year return periods based on BMKG rainfall data is 2,990 m³/s and 4,380 m³/s, and for the same return periods, GSMAP data shows inflow discharge 1,890 m³/s and 3,700 m³/s. the pump operation pattern is based on the increase in water surface elevation, when the pond’s water elevation rises by 0,05 meters, one pump with capacity of 1 m³/s is activated. When the pond’s water elevation rises by 0,15 one more pump with capacity of 1 m³/s activated. When the pond’s water elevation rises by 0,25 one pump with capacity of 0,7 m³/s activated. The use of 1 additional pump continues if the water level rises until 0,6 meter until the water surface elevation starts to decrease, as detailed in Table 5.46
