Abstract

This research aims to develop a test instrument for computational thinking skills on genetic concepts and determine the suitability of this test instrument for use in evaluating high school students' learning outcomes on genetic concepts. The method used is Research & Development (R&D) with the Berkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research (BEAR) Assessment System research design. The BEAR Assessment System stages include construct map, item design, outcome space, and measurement model. The research was carried out in seven public high schools spread across the districts/cities of Banten Province and the Department of Biology Education at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa in January-May 2024. The feasibility of the computational thinking skills test instrument for genetic concepts was assessed based on expert assessments (material experts, evaluation experts, and practitioners) using product assessment instruments, data analysis of product trial results, and assessment by students using student response questionnaires. The average assessment result by experts is 98.66% which is in the very feasible category. The results of Rasch analysis with the eRm package on 122 students who took part in the product trial showed that the reliability of the question items was 0.5 (quite reliable) and the infit-outfit mean square value was in the range 0.7-1.3 so that all question items were acceptable. Meanwhile, the average assessment results by students was 66.16% which was in the practical category. Based on the research results, the computational thinking skills test instrument on genetic concepts can be used to measure students' computational thinking skills on genetic concepts.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir komputasional konsep genetika dan mengetahui kelayakan instrumen tes tersebut untuk digunakan dalam mengevaluasi hasil pembelajaran siswa SMA pada konsep genetika. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Research & Development (R&D) dengan desain penelitian Barkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research (BEAR) Assessment System. Tahapan BEAR Assessment System meliputi construct map (mengembangkan kerangka soal), item design (merancang butir soal), outcome space (mengembangkan panduan penskoran), dan measurement model (memodelkan pengukuran). Penelitian dilaksanakan di tujuh SMA Negeri yang tersebar di wilayah Kabupaten/Kota Provinsi Banten dan Jurusan Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa pada bulan Januari—Mei 2024. Kelayakan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir komputasional konsep genetika dinilai berdasarkan penilaian ahli (ahli materi, ahli evaluasi, dan praktisi) menggunakan instrumen penilaian produk, analisis data hasil uji coba terhadap produk, dan penilaian oleh para siswa menggunakan angket respon siswa. Rata-rata hasil penilaian oleh para ahli yaitu sebesar 98,66% yang berada pada kategori sangat layak. Hasil analisis Rasch dengan eRm package terhadap 122 siswa yang mengikuti uji coba produk menunjukkan reliabilitas item soal sebesar 0,5 (cukup reliabel) dan nilai infit-outfit mean square berada pada rentang 0,7—1,3 sehingga semua butir soal dapat diterima. Sementara rata-rata hasil penilaian oleh para siswa yaitu sebesar 66,16% yang berada pada kategori praktis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir komputasional konsep genetika dapat digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir komputasional siswa pada konsep genetika.
