Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of the use of video-based learning media in schools, where the learning media used are still conventional. Students are more interested in using gadgets for non-learning activities than using them for learning. This study aims to determine the effect of video-based learning media on the understanding of basic electronic concepts of class X Telin students (Industrial Electronics Engineering), and to compare the effectiveness between video media and conventional learning media. The research method used is a quantitative method with a "quasi-experimental" design. The results of the study showed that there was a positive influence of the use of video-based learning media on student understanding. However, the results of further analysis showed that the difference between video media and conventional media was not significant. Thus, although video media has a positive impact, its effectiveness is not much different compared to conventional media in improving understanding of basic electronic concerts

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh belum adanya penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video di sekolah, dimana media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional. Siswa lebih tertarik menggunakan gadget untuk aktivitas non pembelajaran daripada memanfaatkannya untuk belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis video terhadap pemahaman konsep dasar elektronika siswa kelas X (Teknik Elektronika Industri), serta membandingkan efektivitas antara media video dengan media pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain “quasi eksperimen”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video terhadap pemahaman siswa. Namun, hasil analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan antara media video dan media konvensional memiliki tingkat signifikasi sebesar 0,227. Dengan demikian, meskipun media video memiliki dampak positif, efektivitasnya tidak jauh berbeda dibandingkan dengan media konvensional dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dasar elektronika.
