Abstract
The increasing population in urban areas has resulted in the emergence of noise pollution problems which can be caused by high vehicle traffic or from certain activities. One environmental sector that is also affected by noise is campuses or universities. Knowing the ratio of noise values that exist in a place, especially academic areas such as campuses, is the first step to solving noise-related problems. The noise level monitoring device in academic spaces is designed with an Internet of Things system with four MAX-9814 sensors on each side of the device, datavisualization via the Blynk application and noise level data can be stored on local storage such as a MicroSD Card. The equipment was implemented in the Applied Physics Laboratory and Materials Manufacturing Laboratory in the area of Campus B, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, where the room is within a 100 m radius of the road traffic in front of Campus B Untirta Cilegon. The results of monitoring noise levels for three days in each room, it was noted that road traffic noise in front of Campus B Untirta Cilegon did not affect the two rooms. The average noise level in the Applied Physics Laboratory is 30.09 dB and the average noise level in the Materials Manufacturing Laboratory is 18.21 dB, which is in accordance with the noise regulations set by the government, but the data obtained for the highest noise level exceeds the rules set by the government, namely in the Applied Physics Laboratory and Materials Manufacturing Laboratory, it reached 94 dB.
