Abstract
One of the problems in learning science is the ability of students' science process skills which are still low so that the right solutions and methods must be known to be able to overcome them. Students' science process skills can be trained using learning media with the right method. One of them is in the form of virtual laboratory learning media based on guided inquiry. The research was conducted to determine the level of validity and student response to the virtual laboratory learning media based on guided inquiry on the theme of the earth and space layers to train students' science process skills. The research was conducted in the even semester of FY 2023/2024 at two public junior high schools in Serang City and one public junior high school in Serang Regency. Research and development is a method used in this study adapted from 4-D. This model consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating, but this research only reaches the development stage of the student response results section of the learning media development. The results of this study indicate that the level of validity obtained from material experts, media, and practitioners on guided inquiry-based virtual laboratory learning media obtained an overall percentage value of 85.82% in the “very valid” category. Meanwhile, the results of student responses showed a percentage value of 82.67% and fell into the “very good” category. This proves that the developed product can be continued at an advanced stage or a wide-scale trial.

Additional Information: | Salah satu permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA adalah kemampuan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang tergolong masih rendah sehingga harus diketahui solusi serta metode yang tepat untuk dapat mengatasinya. Keterampilan proses sains siswa dapat dilatih menggunakan media pembelajaran dengan metode yang tepat. Salah satunya yaitu berupa media pembelajaran virtual laboratorium berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dan respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran virtual laboratorium berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada tema lapisan bumi dan antariksa untuk melatih keterampilan proses sains siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester genap TA 2023/2024 pada dua SMP Negeri di Kota Serang dan satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Serang. Penelitian dan pengembangan merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari 4-D. Model ini terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran, tetapi penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap pengembangan bagian hasil respon siswa terhadap pengembangan media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kevalidan yang diperoleh dari para ahli materi, media, dan praktisi terhadap media pembelajaran virtual laboratorium berbasis inkuiri terbimbing memperoleh nilai persentase keseluruhan sebesar 85,82% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Sedangkan untuk hasil respon siswa menunjukkan nilai persentase sebesar 82,67% dan masuk dalam kategori “sangat baik”. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan dapat dilanjutkan pada tahap lanjut atau uji coba skala luas. | |||||||||
