Abstract
Learning culinary skills is very important for deaf students in order to develop their creativity in the field of vocational skills as preparation for starting an independent business or working after graduating from school. The culinary learning material given to deaf students starts from processing preparation, to serving food. Learning culinary skills for deaf students requires appropriate teaching methods or strategies, in order to optimize students' abilities in the learning process. This research aims to apply the explicit instruction method in improving the culinary skills of deaf students at the Al-Khairiyah Special School, Cilegon City. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research method of one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 4 deaf students. The research instrument uses tests. Data analysis uses parametric statistical test analysis, while hypothesis testing in this research uses the paired sample t-test. The results of this research show that the results of the significance level test obtained sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant difference between the culinary skills abilities of deaf children before and after being given treatment using the explicit instruction method, so it can be concluded that HO is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is, there is an increase in donut making culinary skills using the explicit instruction method for deaf students in Special Schools. Al-Khairiyah, Cilegon City.

Additional Information: | Pembelajaran keterampilan tata boga sangat penting dimiliki oleh para peserta didik tunarungu dalam rangka mengembangkan kreativitasnya di bidang keterampilan vokasional sebagai bekal untuk memulai usaha mandiri atau bekerja pasca lulus sekolah. Materi pembelajaran tata boga yang diberikan pada peserta didik tunarungu mulai dari persiapan pengolahan, hingga sampai dengan menghidangkan makanan. Dalam pembelajaran keterampilan tata boga pada peserta didik tunarungu memerlukan metode ataupun strategi pengajaran yang tepat, guna mengoptimalkan kemampuan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode explicit instruction dalam meningkatkan keterampilan tata boga siswa tunarungu di Sekolah Khusus Al-Khairiyah Kota Cilegon. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel berjumlah 4 orang siswa tunarungu. Instrument penelitian menggunakan tes. Analisis data menggunakan analisis uji statistik parametrik, sementara uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, hasil uji taraf signifikannya memperoleh sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05 atau 0,000 < 0,05. Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan keterampilan tata boga anak tunarungu sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment menggunakan metode explicit instruction, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa HO ditolak dan Ha diterima yaitu terdapat peningkatan keterampilan tata boga pembuatan kue donat melalui metode explicit instruction pada siswa tunarungu di Sekolah Khusus Al-Khairiyah Kota Cilegon. | |||||||||
