Abstract
The number of egg consumption in Indonesia is quite high with average of annual consumption is 5 million tons from 2018 to 2022. Egg consumption leaves eggshell waste that can be utilized as fillers in composite materials. Generally, this composite consists of a matrix and filler where the matrix will bind the filler so that it does not move. One of the natural material that has the potential to be utilized as a composite binder is natural rubber. This research was conducted by making natural rubber composites filled with chicken eggshell powder. The eggshell powder used is that which has a mesh size of 100 which is mixed with natural rubber and other ingredients. The manufacturing process is to use a hotpress machine at a temperature of 170oC, a pressure of 0.7 MPa, and a duration of 60 minutes. The exact same 3 samples were made to determine the uniformity of the data. The tested data is the tensile strength data using the MTS Landmark 100kN UTM machine. Then the test specimen data is compared with the comparison specimen data which is given a forging pressure of 40 MPa. It was found that specimens that were pressurized at 40 MPa were superior with UTS values of 25.008 MPa, yield strength of 24.985 MPa, young modulus of 6.406 GPa, and strain at fracture of ±0.025. While the best data from specimens that were pressurized 0.7 MPa only got a UTS value of 18.684 MPa, yield strength 12.192 MPa, young modulus 3.174 GPa, and strain at fracture of ±0.041.

Additional Information: | Angka konsumsi telur di Indonesia terbilang cukup tinggi dengan penggunaan rata-rata tahunan sebesar 5 juta ton selama tahun 2018-2022. Konsumsi telur meninggalkan limbah cangkang telur yang bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai pengisi pada material komposit. Umumnya, komposit ini terdiri dari matriks dan pengisi dimana matriks akan mengikat pengisi agar tidak berpindah. Salah satu bahan alami yang berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pengikat komposit adalah karet alam. Penelitian kali ini dilakukan dengan membuat komposit karet alam berpengisi serbuk cangkang telur ayam. Serbuk cangkang telur yang digunakan adalah yang memiliki ukuran mesh 100 yang dicampur dengan karet alam dan bahan-bahan lainnya. Proses manufakturnya adalah dengan menggunakan mesin kempa panas pada suhu 170oC, tekanan 0,7 MPa, dan durasi pengempaan 60 menit. Dibuat 3 sampel yang sama untuk mengetahui keselarasan data. Data yang diamati adalah data pengujian kekuatan tarik menggunakan mesin UTM MTS Landmark 100kN. selanjutnya data spesimen uji dibandingkan dengan data spesimen pembanding yang diberikan tekanan pengempaan sebesar 40 MPa. Didapatkan bahwa spesimen yang diberi tekanan 40 MPa lebih unggul dengan nilai UTS adalah 25,008 MPa, yield strength 24,985 MPa, modulus young 6,406 GPa, dan regangan saat patah yaitu ±0,025.
