Abstract

This thesis focuses on Symbolic Violence in the Intra-Campus Student Organization, the Student Executive Board. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe how the process of Symbolic Violence in Intra-campus student organization, the student Executive Board, Faculty of Teacher Training and education, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Period 2023 and 2024. The method used in this research is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use is observation, interviews and documentations. The data analysis technique used is Miles & Huberman’s interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The theory is Masculine Domination Pieree Bourdieu. The informer in this research were the Management of BEM FKIP UNTIRTA for the 2024 period, Female Members of BEM FKIP UNTIRTA for the 2024 period, and previous cabinet BEM FKIP UNTIRTA. Based on the finding obtained by the researcher, it shows that in the realm of intra-campus student organizations, the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, has not been able to liberate from of the construction of patriarchal society culture. In the BEM FKIP UNTIRTA organization, it still has the principle that says as long as there are men, only men will lead. This understanding places men in a superior position to women in the organizational structure. This can be seen in the division of labor that places men dominant in the public sphere such as chairman or head of department and women in the domestic sphere such as secretary and accountant. The division of labor that places men as superior and women as inferior is identical to the patriarchal values that exist in society. Unconsciously, women agree that men dominate in various sectors in the BEM FKIP UNTIRTA organization and think that this is expected and is a normal thing to happen. This is what Bourdieu calls symbolic violence.

Additional Information: Skripsi ini berfokus pada Kekerasan Simbolik pada Organisasi Mahasiswa Intra Kampus Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripisikan bagaimana Proses Kekerasan Simbolik pada Organisasi Mahasiswa Intra Kampus Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. periode 2023 dan 2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model interaktif Miles & Huberman yang terdiri atas pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori dominasi Maskulin Pierre Bourdieu. Informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Pengurus BEM FKIP UNTIRTA periode 2024, anggota Perempuan BEM FKIP UNTIRTA periode 2024 dan demisioner BEM FKIP UNTIRTA Berdasarkan temuan lapangan yang didapatkan peneliti menunjukan bawa dalam ranah organisasi mahasiswa intra kampus Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Fakultas Keguran dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa masih belum bisa melepaskan kontruksi budaya masyarakat patriarki. Pada organisasi BEM FKIP UNTIRTA ini masih mempunyai prinsip selama ada laki-laki maka laki-laki saja yang memimpin. Pemahaman ini menempatkan posisi laki-laki lebih superior dibanding perempuan di ranah organisasi. Hal tersebut terlihat pada pembagian kerja yang menempatkan laki-laki dominan pada ranah publik seperti ketua atau kepala departemen dan perempuan pada ranah domestik seperti sekretaris dan bendahara. Secara tidak sadar perempuan menyetujui bahwa laki-laki mendominasi di berbagai sektor dalam organisasi BEM FKIP UNTIRTA dan menganggap hal tersebut memang seharusnya dan wajar terjadi. Hal inilah menurut Bourdieu disebut sebagai kekerasan simbolik.
