Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of frequency and concentration of tofu waste liquid organic fertiliser (LOF) on the growth and yield of chicory (Brassica pekinensis L.). This research used a factorial Randomised Group Design. The experiment had two factors. The first factor is the frequency of watering LOF tofu waste, which consists of three levels, namely, once every 4 days; once every 7 days; and once every 10 days. The second factor is the LOF watering concentration of tofu waste, which consists of four levels namely 40 ml/l; 80 ml/l; 120 ml/l; and 160 ml/l. Each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that the application of LOF tofu waste with a frequency of once every 4 days showed a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height at the age of 5 weeks after planting (WAP), and a significant effect on the parameters of leaf width at the age of 5 WAP. However, the frequency of treatment once every 4 days had not affect on the parameters of the number of leaves, leaf length, plant diameter, and fresh weight of plants. The treatment of 160 ml/l concentration had a real and very real effect on plant height at the age of 3 WAP, 4 WAP, 5 WAP, 6 WAP, and 7 WAP. The treatment of 160 ml/l concentration also had a significant effect on leaf length parameters at the age of 3 and 4 WAP and a very significant effect at the age of 5 and 6 WAP. In addition, it has a very significant effect on leaf width parameters at the age of 4 WAP and 5 WAP. However, the treatment concentration 160 ml/l had no effect on the parameters of the number of plant leaves, plant diameter and plant fresh weight. There was an interaction between the frequency of watering every 4 days and the concentration of 120 ml/l only on the parameter of plant height at the age of 5 WAP.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh frekuensi dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair limbah tahu (POC) terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi putih (Brassica pekinensis L.). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok faktorial. Percobaan ini memiliki dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah frekuensi penyiraman POC limbah tahu yang terdiri dari tiga taraf, yaitu 4 hari sekali, 7 hari sekali, dan 10 hari sekali. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi penyiraman POC limbah tahu yang terdiri dari empat taraf, yaitu 40 ml/l; 80 ml/l; 120 ml/l; dan 160 ml/l, setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC limbah tahu dengan frekuensi 4 hari sekali menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman pada umur 5 minggu setelah tanam (MST), dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter lebar daun pada umur 5 MST. Namun, frekuensi perlakuan 4 hari sekali tidak berpengaruh terhadap parameter jumlah daun, panjang daun, diameter tanaman, dan bobot segar tanaman. Perlakuan konsentrasi 160 ml/l berpengaruh nyata dan sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman pada umur 3 MST, 4 MST, 5 MST, 6 MST, dan 7 MST. Perlakuan konsentrasi 160 ml/l juga berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter panjang daun pada umur 3 dan 4 MST dan berpengaruh sangat nyata pada umur 5 dan 6 MST. Selain itu berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter lebar daun pada umur 4 MST dan 5 MST. Namun pada perlakuan konsentrasi 160 ml/l tidak berpengaruh terhadap parameter jumlah daun, diameter tanaman dan bobot segar tanaman. Terdapat interaksi antara frekuensi penyiraman 4 hari sekali dengan konsentrasi 120 ml/l hanya pada parameter tinggi tanaman pada umur 5 MST.
