Abstract

The research paper entitled Improving Students Vocabulary Mastery By Using Picture at The Seventh grade of SMPN 1 Cinangka. The objectives of this research was to find out whether pictures can be used to improve the students vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade of SMPN 1 Cinangka or not. To achieve the objectives of the study, the writer conducted an action research. This classroom action research would be held on SMPN 1 Cinangka. There were 25 students. The first step was do the Pre test. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The process of of teaching acitivities ran very well and the students responses in cycle I and cycle II were very enthusiasm and active in teaching and learning activities. And the result of improving students vocabulary mastery could be seen in the pre test that average score of students was 33,6. While, after giving treatment in cycle I, the students average score was 57,6. Then after giving the treatment in cycle II , the students average score was 87,2. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that by using picture, students can improve their ability in learning vocabulary. Besides, the learning activities become more enjoyable and enthusiasm. Keywords: Action Reseach, Vocabulary, Picture
