Abstract

Soil is a provider of nutrients for plants, so the production achieved depends on soil fertility. Acidic soil can affect the physical and chemical properties of the soil, plant growth, nutrient availability patterns, damage the cycle and biochemical activity of microbes in the soil, and poison plants. Land that has an acidic pH requires treatment that can increase soil fertility for plant growth. One of the organic fertilizers that is widely used to influence the availability of nutrients is fertilizer from animal waste, for example chicken manure. In addition to improving nutrients, the ability of the soil to retain water is also no less important, this can be overcome by providing rice husk charcoal biochar, rice husk charcoal has also been shown to increase pH so that it is suitable for application to soil with acidic pH. Therefore, a study was conducted on the provision of chicken manure fertilizer and rice husk charcoal biochar on the growth and yield of land kale plants in acidic soil media. The research was conducted in May 2024 in Karanglayung, Sukra, Indramayu, West Java. This study used a randomized block design (RCBD) with 2 factors. Chicken manure fertilizer as the first factor with dosage levels of 0 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, 40 t ha-1, and 60 t ha-1. The dose of rice husk biochar as factor 2 is 0 t ha-1, 15 t ha-1, and 30 t ha-1. The results of the research that has been done, chicken manure fertilizer and rice husk biochar give a positive response to plant growth and yield and there is an interaction between the two factors.

Additional Information: Tanah merupakan penyedia hara nutrisi bagi tanaman, sehingga produksi yang dicapai tergantung kepada kesuburan tanah. Tanah yang masam dapat mempengaruhi sifat fisik dan kimia tanah, pertumbuhan tanaman, pola ketersediaan unsur hara, merusak siklus dan aktivitas biokimia mikroba dalam tanah, serta meracuni tanaman. Lahan yang memiliki pH masam ini dibutuhkan treatment yang mampu untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Salah satu pupuk organik yang banyak digunakan untuk memberikan pengaruh terhadap ketersediaan unsur hara ialah pupuk yang berasal dari kotoran hewan, contohnya pupuk dari kotoran ayam. Selain perbaikan hara, kemampuan tanah dalam menahan air juga tidak kalah penting hal ini dapat diatasi dengan pemberian biochar arang sekam, arang sekam juga terbukti dapat meningkatkan pH sehingga cocok untuk diaplikasikan pada tanah dengan pH masam. Dari itu, dilakuan penelitian menganai pemberian pupuk kotoran ayam dan biochar arang sekam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kangkung darat pada media tanah masam. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2024 di DS. Karanglayung, Kec. Sukra, Kab. Indramayu, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor. Pupuk kotoran ayam sebagai faktor pertama dengan taraf dosis yaitu 0 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, 40 t ha-1, dan 60 t ha-1. Dosis biochar arang sekam sebagai faktor 2 adalah 0 t ha-1, 15 t ha-1, dan 30 t ha-1. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, pupuk kotoran ayam dan biochar arang sekam memberikan respon positif terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman serta terdapat interaksi antara kedua faktor.
