Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-solving abilities on students' learning motivation on multiplication fractions in grade 5 of SDN Citangkil Baru. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The research procedure consisted of four stages, namely the pre-field stage, the field work stage, the data analysis stage and the report preparation stage. The results of this study show that student motivation influences the ability to solve mathematical problems in multiplication fraction material which consists of four indicators, namely feelings of pleasure and diligent in learning, willingness and interest in learning, intelligence and independence in learning and achievement in learning. And students' problem-solving abilities in terms of student learning motivation in grade 5 SDN Citangkil Baru show the results of an average score percentage of 80. Thus it can be concluded that problem-solving abilities affect student learning motivation or student motivation is good for learning mathematics, so problem-solving abilities will be good also.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan motivasi belajar siswa pada materi perkalian pecahan di kelas 5 SDN Citangkil Baru. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, tes dan dokumentasi. Prosedur penelitian terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu tahap pra lapangan, tahap pekerjaan lapangan, tahap analisis data dan tahap penyusunan laporan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa motivasi siswa berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi perkalian pecahan yang terdiri dari empat indikator yaitu perasaan senang serta tekun dalam belajar, kemauan dan minat dalam belajar, kecerdasan dan kemandirian dalam belajar dan berprestasi dalam belajar. Dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa kelas 5 SDN Citangkil Baru menunjukkan hasil persentase skor rata-rata 80. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa atau motivasi siswa baik terhadap pembelajaran matematika maka kemampuan pemecahan masalah akan baik pula.
