Abstract

The background of this research focuses on the low learning outcomes of students in mathematics learning, which is attributed to the inadequate use of media in the learning process. This study aims to determine the impact of ethnomathematics learning and student motivation on mathematics learning outcomes. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a 2x2 factorial design. The research was conducted in different classes, with the experimental class using ethnomathematics learning and the control class using conventional learning. The instruments used are a test for learning outcomes and a student motivation questionnaire. The population of this study consists of students from UPT SDN Sentul 1, with a sample of all sixth-grade students. The results indicate that ethnomathematics learning and student motivation significantly affect student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this study is that ethnomathematics learning, using lidimatika media, can be an alternative learning media that enhances student learning outcomes and is relevant to the surrounding culture, applicable for sixth-grade students at UPT SDN Sentul 1.

Additional Information: Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada rendahnya nilai siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya penggunaan media dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran etnomatematika dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian menggunakan factorial design (desain faktorial) 2x2. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen menggunakan pembelajaran etnomatematika dan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu instrumen tes hasil belajar dan angket motivasi siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa UPT SDN Sentul 1 dengan sampel seluruh siswa kelas 6. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran etnomatematika dan motivasi belajar yang dimiliki siswa sangat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran etnomatematika dengan menggunakan media lidimatika dapat dijadikan alternatif media pembelajaran yang bisa meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta berkaitan dengan kebudayaan sekitar yang bisa digunakan pada siswa sekolah dasar kelas VI di UPT SDN Sentul 1.
