Abstract
Boys love is the newest entertainment genre that is gaining popularity among young people with the theme of a same-sex romantic relationship between two boys. Female teaching students also enjoy content in this genre. The aim of this research is to describe the fujoshi self-concept of female teaching students who like the series Boys Love Thailand. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The subjects in this research consisted of 7 female teaching faculty students who enjoyed boys love content. To determine informants, researchers used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used in-depth interviews, observation and documentation and was assisted by a questionnaire survey. This research analysis uses the Transformation of Intimacy Concept: Sexuality, Love, Eroticism from Anthony Giddens. The research results show that the motivation for fujoshi to watch Boys Love is because they find a new and different genre; Interesting story plot and good looks of the actors. Informants hid their interest in the Boys Love Thailand series from their surroundings as a response to government regulations on the distribution of LGBT content and applicable social norms. Fujoshi consumes boys love shows for personal pleasure and fantasies that allow him to explore his sexual behavior and as entertainment in the midst of busy lectures. Through the show Boys Love Fujoshi gain knowledge of various sexualities balanced with moral considerations regarding homosexuality. The existence of social media provides a safe space for fujoshi to mingle and enjoy their hobbies with fellow boys love fans. Fujoshi, who in this research is a teaching faculty student, understands societal norms and when she becomes a teacher in the future she will uphold professionalism by separating hobbies and work status.

| Additional Information: | Boys love merupakan genre hiburan terbaru yang memiliki popularitas di kalangan anak muda bertemakan sebuah hubungan romantis sesama jenis antara dua laki-laki. Mahasiswi keguruan juga menikmati konten dengan genre ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan konsep diri fujoshi pada mahasiswi keguruan yang menggemari serial boys love Thailand. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 7 mahasiswi fakultas keguruan yang menikmati konten boys love. Guna menentukan informan peneliti menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi serta dibantu dengan survey kuesioner. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan Konsep Transformation of Intimacy: Seksualitas, Cinta, Erotisme dari Anthony Giddens. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi fujoshi menonton boys love karena menemukan genre yang baru dan berbeda; plot cerita menarik serta ketampanan aktor. Informan menyembunyikan minat mereka terhadap serial Boys Love Thailand dari lingkungan sekitar sebagai respon terhadap regulasi pemerintah terhadap penyebaran konten LGBT dan norma sosial yang berlaku. Fujoshi mengkonsumsi tayangan boys love untuk kesenangan pribadi dan fantasi yang memungkinkan untuk mengeksplorasi perilaku seksualnya serta sebagai hiburan di tengah kesibukan perkuliahan. Melalui tayangan boys love fujoshi memperoleh pengetahuan ragam seksualitas diimbangi dengan pertimbangan moral mengenai homoseksualitas. Adanya media sosial memberikan ruang keamanan bagi fujoshi untuk berbaur dan menikmati hobinya dengan sesama penggemar boys love. Fujoshi yang dalam penelitian ini sebagai mahasiswi fakultas keguruan memahami norma masyarakat serta saat menjadi guru kelak akan menjunjung profesionalitas dengan memisahkan antara hobi dan status pekerjaan. | |||||||||
