Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) has good marketing potential, and is a preferred commodity in agriculture. In order to prevent a decrease in the development and production of cayenne pepper, efforts are made to increase the production of chili plants. Such as the use of mulch and the application of organic fungicides. This research aims to determine the effect of using biodegradable polypropylene mulch and doses of organic fungicides on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants. This research was conducted at Cibungur Village Farm, Surade, Sukabumi, West Java Province. This study used a Split Plot Design arranged factorially consisting of two treatment factors, factor 1 as the main plot, namely the type of mulch consisting of 3 levels, M0 = control treatment, M1 = polyethylene mulch and M2 = polypropylene mulch. Factor 2 as a sub-plot is the dose of organic fungicide consisting of 4 levels, F0 = control treatment, F1 = 15 g, F2 = 20 g, F3 = 25g, there are 12 treatment combinations and repeated 3 times. The observation parameters were plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per plot, wet weight of fruits per plant, wet weight of fruits per plot, dry weight of fruits per plant and dry weight of fruits per plot. The results showed that the use of biodegradable polypropylene mulch and a dose of 25 g organic fungicide showed the best results and significantly different in growth parameters and gave a very real effect on yield parameters. There was a significantly different interaction on the parameter of wet weight of fruit per plant and there was a very real interaction on the parameter of wet weight per plot.

Additional Information: Cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.) memiliki potensi pemasaran yang baik, dan merupakan komoditas unggulan di bidang pertanian. Untuk mencegah terjadinya penurunan perkembangan dan produksi cabai rawit, maka dilakukan berbagai upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi tanaman cabai. Seperti penggunaan mulsa dan aplikasi fungisida organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan mulsa polipropilena biodegradable dan dosis fungisida organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Desa Cibungur, Surade, Sukabumi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi yang disusun secara faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan, faktor 1 sebagai petak utama yaitu jenis mulsa yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, M0 = perlakuan kontrol, M1 = mulsa polietilen dan M2 = mulsa polipropilena. Faktor 2 sebagai anak petak adalah dosis fungisida organik yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, F0 = perlakuan kontrol, F1 = 15 g, F2 = 20 g, F3 = 25 g, terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Parameter pengamatan yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah buah per tanaman, jumlah buah per petak, berat basah buah per tanaman, berat basah buah per petak, berat kering buah per tanaman dan berat kering buah per petak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mulsa polipropilena biodegradable dan dosis fungisida organik 25 g menunjukkan hasil terbaik dan berbeda nyata pada parameter pertumbuhan serta memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata pada parameter hasil. Terdapat interaksi yang berbeda nyata pada parameter berat basah buah per tanaman dan terdapat interaksi sangat nyata pada parameter berat basah per petak.
