Abstract

Application of Theory Of Constraint To Minimize Loss Time (A Case Study of PT. Bluescope Steel Indonesia) Elin Herlina 1 , Lely Herlina vii 2 , Kulsum [email protected] 1 , [email protected] ABSTRAK 2 3 , [email protected] PT. Bluesccope Steel Indonesia was one of the largest steel coating system that moves flow process in the coating process on Cold Rolled Coil (CRC). PT. Bluescope Steel Indonesia was built a new line in 2008, namely the Metallic Coating Line (MCL) 2 consists of four sections, namely the entry section, section process, surface section, and exit section can produce painted and bare. Metallic Coating Line (MCL) 2 is a new line that still a lot of problems in the steel lining. Main problem is the amount of unplan delay in process section causing lost production time (loss time) so that makes inhibition of the production process and resulting many defectives product. This is evidenced by the biggest time missing in process section are 4502 minutes, while the exit section are 3519 minutes, 2670 minutes for surface section and entry section 1821 minutes as well as data on the effectiveness of the machine declined October became 51,99 % of the 61,86 % on September. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of the constraints and optimize constraints by maximizing action plan than can minimize the loss time ocurred in the company by applying five principles of continuous improvement Theory of Constraints (TOC). The result of research are found The result of research are found study found the factors that cause constraints are fracture of binder screw floating nut, the appearance of the build-up that has hardened, fracture of blades on the air motor, the air pressure is limited, damage to the seal, roll passing life time, breaking the input cables, fault motor lock, motor rotation WQ weight, bearing is damaged, the motor is damaged, trouble at the safety PLC, unscheduled maintenance. Solutions to minimize the time loss is doing an action plan to accomplish causes of problems and perform calculations using integer programming to maximize the action plan, and the resulting loss of time is 553.9 minutes for a total treatment time of all constraints or has decreased by 49.24% from an initial value of 1125 minutes. Bluesccope Steel Indonesia adalah salah satu perusahaan pelapisan baja terbesar dengan sistem flow proses yang bergerak dalam proses pelapisan pada Cold Rolled Coil (CRC). PT. Bluescope Steel Indonesia membangun line baru pada tahun 2008 yaitu Metalic Coating Line (MCL) 2 terdiri dari empat section, yaitu entry section, process section, surface section, dan exit section yang dapat menghasilkan produk painted dan bare. Metalic Coating Line (MCL) 2 merupakan line baru sehingga masih banyak permasalahan dalam melapisi baja. Masalah utama yang terjadi adalah banyaknya unplan delay pada proses section menyebabkan waktu produksi hilang (loss time) sehingga terhambatnya proses produksi dan berakibat pada banyaknya produk cacat. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan waktu hilang terbesar terdapat pada process section yaitu 4502 menit, sedangkan exit section 3519 menit, surface section 2670 menit dan entry section 1821 menit serta data efektifitas mesin pada bulan oktober yang mengalami penurunan pada bulan oktober menjadi 51,99% dari 61,86% di bulan september. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui penyebab kendala dan mengoptimalkan kendala dengan memaksimalkan action plan sehingga dapat meminimasi loss time yang terjadi diperusahaan dengan menerapkan lima prinsip perbaikan berkelanjutan Theory of Constraints (TOC). Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan faktor-faktor penyebab kendala yaitu patahnya baut pengikat floating nut, munculnya build up yang sudah mengeras, patahnya sudu-sudu pada air motor penggerak, tekanan udara terbatas, kerusakan pada seal, roll melewati umur pakai, kabel input putus, fault motor lock, putaran motor WQ berat, bearing sudah rusak, motor penggerak rusak, trouble pada safety PLC, maintenance tidak terjadwal. Solusi penyelesaian untuk meminimasi loss time adalah melakukan action plan untuk mengatasi penyebab kendala dan melakukan perhitungan menggunakan integer programming dengan memaksimalkan action plan, dan dihasilkan loss time sebesar 553,9 menit untuk total waktu penanganan dari semua kendala atau telah mengalami penurunan sebesar 49,24% dari nilai awal sebesar 1125 menit.
