Abstract

Nutritional problems experienced by toddlers or often called stunting are currently a world issue. Stunting is one of the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which includes the 2nd sustainable development goal of eliminating hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030 and achieving food security. Nationally, the problem of stunting in Indonesia is classified as chronic or still high and has not shown significant improvement. This study aims to analyze the effect of poverty, GRDP per capita, income distribution inequality, food expenditure, human development index, access to proper sanitation, and food insecurity on the prevalence of stunting. The object of this research is 34 provinces in Indonesia for the period 2017-2023. This research uses the System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method. The results of this study indicate that food expenditure and human development index have a negative and significant effect and access to proper sanitation has a negative and insignificant effect on the prevalence of stunting. Meanwhile, poverty, GRDP per capita and income distribution inequality have a significant positive effect and food insecurity has an insignificant positive effect.
