Abstract
ABSTRACT PUPUT PUTRI HAYATI. 2024. Hair Tonic Formulation Of Seaweed Exstract (Hormophysa triquetra) With a Combination Of Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana) Extract As a Hair Grower. Supervised by Ginanjar Pratama, and Afifah Nurazizatul Hasanah. Hormophysa triquetra is one of the marine natural resources that has not been utilized optimally by society. H. triquetra has a dominant pigment, namely fucoxanthin, which has anti-cancer and anti-obesity properties. Seaweed is widely used as a cosmetic product by utilizing its ingredients. H. triquetra seaweed contains flavonoids, phenols as antioxidants which are able to repair damaged hair cells and produce skin tissue which is conducive to hair growth, besides the vitamin C content which can increase blood circulation and provide nutrition for hair follicles. Aleurites moluccana candlenut oil contains high levels of oleic acid and has activity as a hair growth stimulant which has been widely used for generations as a hair tonic. In addition, the antioxidant properties of candlenut oil's oleic acid are believed to slow hair loss and accelerate hair growth. The aim of this research is to determine the formulation and characteristics of the best hair tonic made from H. triquetra seaweed and candlenut extract as a hair growth agent. A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications was used in this experiment. The best results were in the F0 treatment because it showed good physical stability in the test animals and fast hair length growth among other treatments because the samples used contained the highest seaweed extract and contained antioxidants which could protect hair and maintain good hair pigmentation. | Additional Information: | Hormophysa triquetra merupakan salah satu sumber daya alam laut yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh masyarakat. H. triquetra memiliki pigmen dominan yaitu fucoxanthin yang memiliki sifat anti kanker dan anti obesitas. Rumput laut banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai produk kosmetik dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan yang terkandung di dalamnya. Rumput laut H. triquetra mengandung flavonoid, fenol sebagai antioksidan yang mampu memperbaiki sel-sel rambut yang rusak dan menghasilkan jaringan kulit yang kondusif untuk pertumbuhan rambut, selain itu kandungan vitamin C yang dapat meningkatkan sirkulasi darah dan memberi nutrisi pada folikel rambut. Minyak kemiri Aleurites moluccana mengandung asam oleat yang tinggi dan memiliki aktivitas sebagai stimulan pertumbuhan rambut yang telah banyak digunakan secara turun-temurun sebagai tonik rambut. Selain itu, sifat antioksidan asam oleat minyak kemiri dipercaya dapat memperlambat kerontokan rambut dan mempercepat pertumbuhan rambut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formulasi dan karakteristik hair tonic berbahan dasar rumput laut H. triquetra dan ekstrak kemiri terbaik sebagai bahan penumbuh rambut. Percobaan ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Hasil terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan F0 karena menunjukkan kestabilan fisik yang baik pada hewan uji dan pertumbuhan panjang rambut yang cepat diantara perlakuan lainnya karena sampel yang digunakan mengandung ekstrak rumput laut yang paling tinggi serta mengandung antioksidan yang dapat melindungi rambut dan menjaga pigmentasi rambut dengan baik.
