Abstract

Motivation is an important indicator in the learning process to increase students' encouragement and enthusiasm for more meaningful learning activities. So, in an effort to increase student learning motivation, a digital game based learning model will be implemented with the help of a genially interactive and collaborative website with various types of games that are already available. His study aims to determine the effect of digital game-based learning on the learning motivation of class X students in history subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of Quasi Experiment, the sampling technique used is non-probability sampling using purposive sampling for several considerations. Data collection in this study used pretest and posttest in the form of questionnaires. In this study, experiments were conducted in two classes, namely X 5 as the control class and X 7 as the experimental class. In the implementation of the study using the genially website as a digital game. The results of this study indicate that the t-test calculation value on the posttest value of the control class and the experimental class posttest, obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, so Ho is rejected. So it can be concluded that the digital game-based learning model has an influence on student learning motivation in history learning subjects. The results of this study support the use of digital game-based learning as an effective learning strategy in increasing student motivation and engagement in learning history.

Additional Information: Motivasi merupakan salah satu indikator yang penting dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan dorongan dan semangat siswa dalam kegiatan belajar yang lebih bermakna. Maka dalam upaya meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, akan diterapkan model digital game based learning dengan bantuan website genially yang bersifat interaktif dan kolaboratif dengan berbagai jenis permainan yang sudah tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh digital game based learning terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas X pada mata pelajaran sejarah di SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Quasi Eksperiment, teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah ¬non-probability sampling menggunakan purposive sampling atas beberapa pertimbangan. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan pretest dan posttest berupa angket. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan eksperimen pada dua kelas yaitu X 5 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X 7 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Dalam pelaksanaan penelitian menggunakan media bantu website genially sebagai permainan digital. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa nilai perhitungan uji-t pada nilai posttest kelas kontrol dan posttest kelas eksperimen, diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga Ho ditolak. Sehingga dapat dismpulkan bahwa model digital game based learning memiliki pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pembelajaran sejarah. Hasil penelitian ini mendukung penggunaan digital game based learning sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam belajar sejarah.
