Abstract
Special School Teacher (SLB) is a job that has a high level of work stress compared to ordinary school teachers. Patience, attention and special skills are the main assets as an SLB teacher. This research aims to measure mental workload and work stress, see the differences in work stress received by SLB teachers in Cilegon, and see the relationship between individual characteristics and mental workload with work stress among SLB teachers in Cilegon. Data collection was carried out by distributing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration-Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DASS-21) questionnaires to 52 respondents who were the population of special school teachers in Cilegon. The results of research on the mental workload of special school teachers were 11 respondents light, 34 respondents moderate, and 7 respondents heavy. Regarding work stress, 19 respondents were normal, 24 respondents were mild, 8 respondents were moderate, and 1 respondent was severe. The results of statistical tests show that there is no difference in work stress between public and private special school teachers (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) > 0.05), and individual characteristics, namely age and length of service, as well as mental workload have a relationship with work stress (Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05), except for the education level factor (Sig. (2-tailed) > 0.05).

Additional Information: | Guru Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) adalah pekerjaan yang memiliki tingkat stres kerja yang tinggi dibanding guru sekolah biasa. Kesabaran, perhatian, dan keterampilan khusus merupakan modal utama sebagai guru SLB. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur beban kerja mental dan stres kerja, melihat perbedaan stres kerja yang diterima guru SLB di Cilegon, dan melihat hubungan karakteristik individu dan beban kerja mental dengan stres kerja pada guru SLB di Cilegon. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan penyebaran kuesioner National Aeronautics and Space Administration-Task Load Indeks (NASA-TLX) dan Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DASS-21) kepada 52 responden yang merupakan populasi guru SLB di Cilegon. Hasil penelitian beban kerja mental guru SLB sebanyak 11 responden ringan, 34 responden sedang, dan 7 responden berat. Pada Stres kerja sebanyak 19 responden normal, 24 responden ringan, 8 responden sedang, dan 1 responden berat. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan stres kerja antara guru SLB negeri dan swasta (Asymp. Sig.(2-tailed) > 0,05), dan karakteristik individu yaitu umur dan masa kerja, serta beban kerja mental memiliki hubungan dengan stres kerja (Sig.
