Abstract
The purpose of this study is to know the character and mental health of scout members. The study USES qualitative research with a phenomenon approach. Research shows that scout members have a character to match the needs of this nation. The researchers then focused research into this realm of character with that character (honest, fair, prestige, amanah, religious, and accountable) that became the trademark of university sultan ageng tirtayasa. This tough character is in the predetermined and defined subjects that the character is unconsciously shaped in scout activities. Then the condition of the scout member's health is also stated well according to the data-processing contents of the mental health instrument charging. The subject notes that the activity of the scouts has always been so pleasant that to the subject it is regarded asa contribution from cub scouts to the mental health of their members. | Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui karakter serta kondisi kesehatan mental anggota pramuka. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anggota pramuka memiliki karakter yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan bangsa ini. Kemudian peneliti memfokuskan penelitian dalam ranah karakter ini dengan karakter JAWARA (Jujur, Adil, Wibawa, Amanah, Religius, dan Akuntabel) yang menjadi ciri khas Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Karakter JAWARA ini ada dalam diri para subjek yang telah ditentukan dan dijelaskan bahwasannya karakter ini secara tidak sadar dibentuk dalam kegiatan pramuka. Kemudian kondisi kesehatan anggota pramuka juga dinyatakan baik sesuai dengan pengolahan data hasil pengisian instrument angket kesehatan mental. Subjek menyatakan bahwa kegiatan yang ada di pramuka selalu terasa menyenangkan sehingga bagi subjek hal tersebut dianggap sebagai kontribusi dari pramuka terhadap kondisi kesehatan mental para anggotanya.
