Abstract
This research aims to determine the role of the Rumah Dunia community in strengthening the literacy of the people of Serang City. The data collection techniques used in this research are participatory observation, semi-structured interviews and documentation which determines the criteria for selecting informants (Puposive). Data was analyzed through several stages starting from raw data (observation results, interviews and documentation) which were prepared for analysis and reading, then coded for themes and descriptions, interconnected between themes and descriptions, and finally interpretation of the meaning of themes/descriptions. The research results show that Rumah Dunia seeks to strengthen the literacy of the people of Serang City through 4 roles, namely facilitating roles and skills; where Rumah Dunia as a facilitator provides a forum for the people of Serang City who want to learn and pioneer work in the field of literacy and journalistic arts. Second, the role and skills of education, Rumah Dunia plays the role of providing education through various activity programs to increase knowledge and awareness of the importance of literacy. The third role is the role of representation, Rumah Dunia collaborates with various parties ranging from regional and non-regional governments. This aims to increase friendship so that it is easy to find sources who are appropriate to their scientific field. Apart from that, Rumah Dunia also uses social media to publish its work or documentation. The final role is the technical role, this role is used to control, manage, evaluate both activity processes and financial management.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peranan komunitas rumah dunia dalam penguatan literasi masyarakat kota serang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu observasi partisipatif , wawancara semi struktur dan dokumentasi yang ditetapkan kriteria pemilihan informannya (Puposive). Data tersebut dianalisis melalui beberapa tahapan mulai dari data mentah (hasil observasi , wawancara dan dokumentasi) yang disiapkan untuk dianalisis dan dibaca, lalu diberikan kode tema dan deskripsi, saling dihubungkan antara tema dan deskripsi, terakhir Menginterpretasi makna tema/deskripsi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa rumah dunia dalam upaya penguatan literasi masyarakat kota serang melalui 4 peran, yaitu peran dan keterampilan memfasilitasi; yang mana rumah dunia sebagai fasilitator menyediakan tempat untuk masyarakat kota serang yang ingin belajar dan merintis karya di bidang literasi dan seni jurnalistik. Yang kedua peran dan keterampilan mendidik, rumah dunia mempunyai peran untuk memberikan edukasi lewat berbagai program kegiatan sebagai peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran akan pentingnya literasi. Peran ketiga yaitu peran representasi, rumah dunia menjalin kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak mulai dari pemerintahan daerah dan luar daerah, hal ini bertujuan untuk memperbanyak relasi agar mudah mendapatkan narasumber yang sesuai bidang keilmuannya. Selain itu rumah dunia memanfaat sosial media untuk mempublikasikan hasil karya ataupun dokumentasi. Peran terakhir yaitu peran teknis, peran ini digunakan untuk mengontrol, mengelola, mengevalusi baik dalam proses kegiatan, maupun pengelola keuangan. | |||||||||
