Abstract
NPT is an agreement among various countries to commit to limiting the use of nuclear technology and to avoid as much as possible the utilization of nuclear weapons. The emergence of the AUKUS Defense Pact raises issues regarding compliance with the NPT. This study identifies two main problems: first, to know the regulations for the use of nuclear fission energy based on the NPT Second, Is the AUKUS Defense Pact cooperation in accordance with the principles of the three main pillars of the NPT This research utilizes a normative juridical method, with a descriptive analytical research type. Secondary data sources are used, including primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. Data collection techniques involve literature studies. The research is conducted at the library of the Faculty of Law in Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, and the central library of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The findings of this research indicate that the existence of the AUKUS Pact will lead to a security dilemma in the IndoPacific region in terms of military power. Additionally, ASEAN countries perceive the AUKUS Pact as provoking other powers in the Asia-Pacific region and potentially violating the principle of maintaining ASEAN as a Zone of Peace, Freedom, and Neutrality (ZOPFAN). Furthermore, China views AUKUS as a threat to regional peace and stability, and as endangering efforts to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons. NPT is an agreement aimed at limiting the possession of nuclear weapons, with three main pillars related to commitments for disarmament, non-proliferation, and the use of nuclear materials for peaceful purposes

| Additional Information: | NPT merupakan kesepakatan berbagai negara terhadap komitmen untuk membatasi penggunaan teknologi nuklir dan menghindari semaksimal mungkin terhadap pemanfaatan nuklir sebagai senjata. Munculnya Pakta Pertahanan AUKUS memunculkan permasalahan terhadap kepatuhan terhadap NPT. Adapun penelitian ini memiliki 2 identifikasi masalah yaitu yang pertama Mengetahui pengaturan pemanfaatan energi fisi nuklir berdasarkan NPT? kedua apakah kerjasama Pakta Pertahanan AUKUS sesuai dengan prinsip tiga pilar utama NPT? Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif, dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif analitis. Penelitian ini menggunakan sumber data sekunder dengan bahan hukum primer, sekunder, dan tersier. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi kepustakaan. Lokasi penelitian yaitu perpustakaan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, dan perpustakaan pusat Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu Keberadaan Pakta AUKUS membuat wilayah Indo-Pasifik akan mengalami security dilemma dalam aspek kekuatan militer. Selain itu, negara-negara ASEAN memandang Pakta AUKUS memprovokasi kekuatan lain di kawasan Asia-Pasifik dan berpotensi melanggar prinsip menjaga ASEAN sebagai zone of peace Freedom and Neutrality (ZOPFAN). Bahkan negara Cina memandang AUKUS akan merusak perdamaian dan stabilitas regional, serta membahayakan upaya untuk menghentikan proliferasi senjata nuklir. Traktat NPT adalah suatu perjanjian yang bertujuan membatasi kepemilikan senjata nuklir dimana terdapat 3 pilar utama terkait komitmen perlucutan senjata nuklir, nonproliferasi dan penggunaan bahan nuklir untuk tujuan damai. | |||||||||
