Abstract
School supervisors are an important part of the education process. School supervisors are civil servants who are fully authorized by the Education and Culture Office to carry out supervisory functions by assisting in improving the quality of learning in the Education Unit. School supervisors in Tangerang Regency are faced with various problems, namely the uneven distribution and number of supervisors. Problem identification, How is the application of the authority of high school supervisors in an effort to improve the quality of education based on Regulation of the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel Number 4831 / B / HK.03.01 / 2023 concerning the Role of School Supervisors in Implementing the Merdeka Belajar Policy in Education Units? and, How are the obstacles faced by high school supervisors in conducting supervision based on Regulation of the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel Number 4831 / B / HK.03.01 / 2023 concerning the Role of School Supervisors in Implementing the Merdeka Belajar Policy in Education Units? The theories are the theory of authority and the theory of supervision. The research method is empirical juridical. Qualitative research type. Data sources are primary data supported by secondary data. Data collection techniques are interviews and literature. Data analysis with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study state that high school supervisors have not exercised their authority properly, which has an effect on the quality of education that has not shown an increase. The obstacles experienced are the number of high school supervisors in Tangerang Regency with high schools in Tangerang Regency, which is not in the ideal ratio in accordance with applicable regulations, time constraints, distance between schools, and lack of attention to mentoring reports. It is suggested that strategic steps should be taken to take firm action and directly observe the condition of high school supervisors, increase the number of high school supervisors in accordance with the needs of each region, improve infrastructure and logistics, and use technology to enable communication and remote supervision.

| Additional Information: | Pengawas Sekolah merupakan bagian yang penting dalam proses pendidikan. Pengawas Sekolah adalah PNS yang diberi wewenang secara penuh oleh Dinas Pendidikan Dan Kebudayaan untuk melaksanakan fungsi pengawasan dengan melakukan kegiatan Pendampingan dalam peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran pada Satuan Pendidikan. Pengawas Sekolah di Kabupaten Tangerang dihadapi oleh berbagai masalah yaitu penyebaran dan jumlah pengawas yang tidak merata. Identifikasi masalah, Bagaimana penerapan kewenangan Pengawas SMA dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan berdasarkan Peraturan Direktur Jenderal Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Nomor 4831/B/HK.03.01/2023 tentang Peran Pengawas Sekolah Dalam Implementasi Kebijakan Merdeka Belajar Pada Satuan Pendidikan? dan, Bagaimana hambatan yang dihadapi oleh Pengawas SMA dalam melakukan pengawasan berdasarkan Peraturan Direktur Jenderal Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Nomor 4831/B/HK.03.01/2023 tentang Peran Pengawas Sekolah Dalam Implementasi Kebijakan Merdeka Belajar Pada Satuan Pendidikan? Teori yaitu teori kewenangan dan teori pengawasan. Metode penelitian yaitu yuridis empiris. Jenis penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data yaitu data primer yang didukung oleh data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara dan kepustakaan. Analisis data dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan Pengawas SMA belum melaksanakan kewenangannya dengan baik berpengaruh pada kualitas pendidikan yang belum menunjukkan adanya peningkatan. Adapun hambatan yang dialami karena jumlah Pengawas SMA Kabupaten Tangerang dengan SMA di Kabupaten Tangerang yang tidak pada rasio yang ideal sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku, keterbatasan waktu, jarak antar sekolah, dan tidak diperhatikannya laporan pendampingan. Saran, langkah strategis perlu diambil untuk menindak secara tegas dan melihat langsung kondisi dari Pengawas SMA, memperbanyak jumlah Pengawas SMA sesuai dengan kebutuhan masing-masing daerah, perbaikan infrastruktur dan logistik, penggunaan teknologi untuk memungkinkan komunikasi dan pengawasan pendampingan secara jarak jauh. | |||||||||
