Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyse the influence of mathematical anxiety and mathematical resilience on the numeracy skills of high school students. This research is quantitative, using a survey-based method. Mathematical anxiety (variable X1), mathematical resilience (variable X2) and numeracy literacy (Y), where X1 is also a mediating variable, are the variables examined in this research. The population in this study were public high school students in Serang Regency, while the sample selected using the Slovin formula was 393 students from 5 sample schools selected based on regional or area and accreditation A, B and C. The data collection technique used test instruments to measure numeracy literacy skills and non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires to measure mathematical anxiety and mathematical resilience. The data collected were then analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) supported by Smart-PLS 3 software. The results show that: (1) there is a significant effect of mathematical anxiety on numeracy literacy of public high school students in Serang Regency, (2) there is a significant effect of mathematical resilience on numeracy literacy of public high school students in Serang Regency, (3) there is a significant effect of mathematical resilience on mathematical anxiety of public high school students in Serang Regency, (4) there is a significant effect of mathematical resilience on numeracy literacy skills of public high school students in Serang Regency through mathematical anxiety and (5) there is a significant effect of mathematical anxiety and mathematical resilience on numeracy literacy skills of public high school students in Serang Regency simultaneously with a magnitude of 53.1% and the remaining 46.9% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kecemasan matematis dan resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Variabel yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah kecemasan matematis (variabel X1), resiliensi matematis (variabel X2) dan kemampuan literasi numerasi (Y), dimana X1 sekaligus menjadi variabel mediasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang, sedangkan sampel yang dipilih menggunakan rumus slovin adalah sebanyak 393 siswa dari 5 sekolah sampel terpilih berdasarkan regional atau wilayah dan akreditasi A, B dan C. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi numerasi dan instrumen non tes berupa angket untuk mengukur kecemasan matematis dan resiliensi matematis. Data yang sudah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan structural equation model (SEM) berbantuan sofware Smart-PLS 3. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa : (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecemasan matematis terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang, (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang, (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan resiliensi matematis terhadap kecemasan matematis siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang, (4) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang melalui kecemasan matematis dan (5) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecemasan matematis dan resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Serang secara simultan dengan besar pengaruh sebesar 53,1% dan sisanya sebesar 46,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model penelitian.
